    Default player notes are valuable

    hi Dazzler

I would definately say player notes are very valuable - more so at smaller sites but valuable none the less

I keep saying I'm going to get an article up on this - but at the moment I'm still snowed under with redesign, trying to keep the damn spammers at bay and getting more regular news up

anyway - player notes - even basic ones are well worth the effort

Its amazing how consistent some players are - eg. betting 4x BB preflop with AA, KK, QQ and 3x with AK

notes like these (whilst maybe not to be followed to the letter) give you a massive edge and information to work with

even simple - "watch" "agressive" "possible blind stealer" will enable you to make more educated decisions

keep up the note taking ;-)

    cheers scrawnybob

    Default note keeping

well i have to agrree. Wholeheartedly. Note taking, especiaslly online, with so many faceless players is important.

I especially - because i play an awful lot of Heads Up - keep a line running, in my notes on each player of either W (won) or L (lost). That way, when i sit at a table and look at my opponents notes I might see....

    H2H - LWLLWWWWWLWWWWL, or
    H2H - WLWWLLWLLLWLWWLLLL

each one of those lines, helps to bring back a memory of my oppenents play against me.

The notes dont have to be long winded. Use abbreviations that are quick to read and easy to understand at a glance.

U could simply write any of these which i'm sure that u should all be able to understand ....

    Bst
    4x guy
    mousy
    ATM
    Total Moron
    VVG

If you dont keep notes, start now. In the long run it could win you a big pot, or save your stack from being trashed,

    hey Dazzler.

I just read your post. Well, before anyone else says it - can i be the first.

Why oh why, at the end of your post - have you shown us the pre flop percentages.???

    1. You say you just looked them up. You should know them off by heart man !!!.

    2. The percentages are irrelevant. Why ? because you didnt bet pre flop.
You put in a bet of 2x the BB. That isnt a bet. Its a limp. You've got AA and you raise the bet from 50c to 150c. What on earth were you thinking ?

and then, then, when the flop comes down , with a possible flush draw on the table, the betting starts to wind upwards. Anyone who was still in the game when the flop hit the table was there because you invited them to stay. You invited them to stay cus you didnt bet anyone off the table and outa the pot.

The Turn card put the flush on the table. The flush cards on the table did not help your Pocket Aces and you hadnt hit trips By the time IRUNLUCKY had called your re-raise he was pot committed. The way he was betting you should have been considering that somehow he must of had a good hand - 2 prs maybe even trips BUT when the TURN card put the flush on the table and he immediately called it all in - He was betting and representing a strong hand to you.

the flush cards on the table did not help u one little bit. All you had was a solitary pair of Aces. The best that you could hope for from the river was another ace to give you trips,

    1. You sat at a full table with Pocket Aces.

    2. You let anyone that had any cards, good/or bad, see the flop for a pautry $1.50.

    3. You called a strong post flop and post turn better and reraiser.

    4. You ended up losing a total of $42.50c because of your ego.

You need to learn from your mistakes or you will, without a doubt, lose a lorra lorra $$$$$$
