Angry Arrrrrrrgh! AK suckout!

It's $.01/.02 NLHE full ring at PokerStars. I've got $1.68 and am in the big blind.

I'm dealt [Ac Ad]. Woo hoo!

Action to me is 3 folds, call, call, raise to $.04, fold, fold. I raise to $.12 then it's call, fold, call.

Flop is [Kc 2h 4d]. I check. Guy in the middle checks. Original raiser bets $.10. I raise to $.40 and guy in the middle folds. The original raiser calls. At this point I KNOW he has AK.

Turn is [8h]. I bet $1.06 and I'm all-in. He calls.

River is the King of Spades.

I know I'm beat long before he flips over [As Kd] and takes the pot.

Yeah... Just another 2 outer with one card to come... 22-1... and he hits. Sometimes I HATE this friggin' game.

It's annoying I agree. The way I try to look at it is that if the best hand won every time, this game would be pointless.

hey all,
well, this does look like another AA loss.... remember, it doesnt happen too often (loosing with the rockets) especialy when there is only one caller/opponent.
although it may seem unfelpful to you, my advice is DONT play cash game! especialy on small stakes for a simple reason that if you said that you have put your all-in before the river, and it's only 1.10$, tells me, that you would be dissapoited with your loss much more- than happy, if your pocket aces would of help up in that particular hand..
Also, you said with confidence: that "at that point I KNOW HE HAS AK"... which was correct! then why not waiting for the river, and getting it for free (if it is possible) to see its not a king and then going/calling all in, that could save your lonely buck but again, im only trying to advise you how to keep you bankroll.

had also a nice AA loss on newplayerfreeroll i played yesterday on poker.com.
so im in a 'happy table', everybody's talking and limping for a big friendly pot. i wait....
then i get AJ off and raise to 150, BB is 50...
the next player throws all in, everyone folds, i fold and show. he shows AQ.
someone sais "and?"....
the next hand i get AA and go all in, and say: "and this!" get called by AQ , lose to his flush, and get: "AND THAT!" from him... lol
you see, its a funny loss but i still think he was very lucky to hit his flush, exactly as that you AK guy at your table

AA is still the best starting hand, and if 4kingforum had a topic for AA winners, it would be much bigger than the suckouts
PLAY ON!

Well "all-in" meaning all I had in front of me; not my whole bankroll... I'm not giving up on cash games anytime soon. I sometimes think I should give up on the NL microstakes though... they drive me crazy. I win at limit and 7-stud microstakes but I'm only a little better than break even at NLHE.

That's excellent advice. Thanks.

Default I agree

Low limit cash tables are not the way to go, the loss hurts more than the win feels good. you better off playing in a sit n go for a buck.
