Default avoid playing against drunks in cash games

Many months ago, i took a trip to atlantic city, nj with my sister. i decided to play at the tropicana casino. I was playing at a 1/2 game. the table was pretty tight winning a couple of hands by playing a bit aggressive in position or everyone limping in. After two hours i had a reasonable profit at the time. A guy shows up with his friend to the table a bit drunk telling the table stories of how much money he had lost at the Borgata. In one hand i get dealt pocket queens in the small blind. One guy raise 20 dollars, the guy who was drunk calls the raise, it comes back to me i reraise to 50 dollars. the guy who had made the initial raise reraise me all in for over two hundred. the drunk goes all in as well with a little over 300. i hesitate for a second worried that maybe i was beat, i decide to call because i had them both cover. The raiser shows pocket fives, the drunk ace queen off suit. The table gets up in disbelief because of what both players were holding, especially the guy with the ace queen. Right on the flop the ace shows up. The drunk takes down the pot with over 800 apologizing and making excuses why he called because he dranked too much. I felt like punching this guy in the face but it wasnt worth it. he got lucky and all and i caught a bad beat and thats poker.

AQ wasnt that bad of a hand to call with. Pocket Q's dont mean you are gonna win the hand. I wouldnt go all in preflop with pocket Q's, as I'd much rather see the flop cause there are 2 cards that can beat it very easily....

Well I had an experiance with a drunk guy last month at the seminole hard rock in Tampa, FL and mine was a great one. We was playing the 1/2 NL and this guy was just having the best time of his life. He was yelling and jumping around, was making everyone laugh and while doing so he donked off over $1200. It was fun for all of us. lol.

i think u didnt reraise enough there, they both have the odds to call. I really think u should have overbet the pot at that time, raising only 50 was pretty weak.

Indeed you made a mistake here, raising 50 was indeed very weak so you missed to pick your aggressive play with you

playing against drunks can have its advantages, too. I was in Vegas in a live game and there was a drunk cowboy sitting accross from me. We were heads up and he wasn't paying attention, thinking everyone had folded. He threw in his cards and I won a big pot. I'm pretty sure I had him beat with 3 kings, but we'll never know. Boy was he mad. Made my day

He had a live overcard...not really anything you could do. I am not sure of the exact percentages but it wasn't a horrible suckout. If he had a Queen and an undercard and won...you could have shot him then.

He was drunk and didn't know what he was doing, I think he even did not realized he won that hand
