No way I am folding in that spot with KK. I don't know why people call normal raises like that with small pairs. The other night I raised 6x BB with AA and got called by 4 people!
Flop was safe so I made a pot sized bet and got called. Turn brought a second suited card to the board. No strait was possible so the only way I am behind is if someone called my raise with a small pair and flopped a set. I bet the pot again and get called. River is a third suited card (6h) so I just check, planning to call unless the bet is huge. The other person checks too and shows 66. He called me all the way to the river and got lucky hitting his 2 outer.

I guess he thought his trip 5's were good
hi
I'm guessing he thought his trip 5's were good
if I've got it right you called his feeler bet on the flop - which probably made him think that you had only high cards - say K10 or KA and that his middle trips were good
once the 4 came down he's thinking he's made a FH and he's put you on 2 pair with a king and gone for it
I can't see he has really done anything wrong under the circumstances - you bet in a way that he put you on less of a hand - and both of you have FH and he gets very lucky
but I don't think either of you were going to get away from the hand
maybe if you'd moved over the top on the flop you would have got him committed sooner - but at the end of the day I think you were both right to end up all-in
How he played it may have looked lame from you end - but I guarantee from his side of the table with the info he had to work with - he put you on K+picture - so he was right to go with it IMHO
