A little story from my home game last night

We have a home game every Tuesday and Thursday night. Last nights game was a lot of fun, we have 12 people, $10 buy in, with re-buys allowed for the first two blind sessions. We ended up having one buy back the first game, so there was a pot of $130, paying $100 for first and $30 for second. Well I get heads up with a good buddy of mine who had about a three to one chip lead on me. When we get heads up we usually split the pot and get another game going, but my buddy got greedy since he had such a big chip lead. The first hand, and only hand of heads up play, I look down to see six seven in the big blind. He calls the big blind and I check. The flop comes 3D 4H 5D. I flopped the nut hand at the time, so I check. He bets 2000, I check raise him to 10,000. He calls. The turn brings a 8C, so I go all in, I still have the nuts. He calls me, which shocked me, but I thought here is my chance to bust him down to nothing and take a huge chip lead. He turns over king duece of diamonds. Flush draw. The river comes and brings the 9 of diamonds, I couldn't believe it. I lost to his flush draw, still won $20, but it sucks flopping the nuts heads up and losing.

Nothing you can do there. He called simply because he had more chips than you and he wanted to get it over with.........

yea, i didnt mind losing, especially since i still won some money, but its always nice when someone wont chop and you can come back on them, thats what i thought i was going to do, but the darn river got me, lol, oh well

GNK is 100% correct with what he said...he only called due to the 3to1 hip lead and he wa trying to end it quickly which he did unfortunately and cost you some nice $$$.Better luck in the next home game sir
