    Default Selective Memories

I truly think Poker players have selective memories, when a player gets knocked out of a tourney, and bad mouths the site, or player that stayed in a hand... they remeber that hand, not all the hands that had them sitting on all the chips they lost. I was 26th of 200 left in tourney that started some 3,000 or so.... after 2nd break i told myself to coast awhile and let the bubble(153) go past... well Pocket kings ...and Ace Queen suited later, i was out at 169!! now i can explain what beat me and how it should'nt have, but i can't tell you the hands that had me in 26th place (selective memory)...Now billy Joel sings a song .....The river is wide, and The river is deep-- and I've been on both sides of the river,so i know its a long swim, and as a puppy try it doing the doggy paddle...lol botom line is i have the mouse in my hand, and know both sides of the river! if i always went downstream, i wouldnt know what it's like to dog paddle upstream. heres to wishing you a high Pocket pair and fewer bad beats!! Yep the river is nice to watch but deadly to swim in. But you know what we all do in the river? It's called drowning!!!

you're right puppy. i've read it elsewere a while ago.

you know , the players on highstakes poker remember their beats for life, such the one negreanu has lost with his pocket sixes to gus's pocket fives.

there is a houmoristic sentence taken from life, and the "main" differences between women and men - it goes like this:

women will always remember the one they had a blast with - in bed.

men, will never forget the women they totally blew with.....

    hope that makes sence

Default selective poker hand memory syndrome

    hi

I think pro players remember every hand they ever played - allegedly

they just talk about the bad hands more

the rest of us definately suffer from selective poker hand memory syndrome to some degree or another

so many players only remember the times they got sucked out and not the times they did the sucking - I think thats half the reason why players feel online is skewed - they remember others good luck but put their own down to good play ;-)

    cheers scrawnybob

Royal Puppy that was a great post and a great reminder I wanna personally thank you for that post. The river is WIDE ut Its also DEEP for sure you can be at the bottom and fight your way tot he top with runner arunner and forget about it,and chalk it up as the right play which is severely wrong.Scrawnybob I think your right as well most Pro players remember tons and tons and tons and tons of hands but they always seem to talk the most about the ones they lost like the NOVICES

    Default More cards

A bad beat should be remembered, but let go..Theres more cards to come, and before you know it you have to more hole cards. dont change your play because of last hand! The dealer does'nt tire, so dont let your play! Play Hard, and Have Fun! Robey

Bad beats have to be let go, otherwise they cause you to go on tilt. Good players are more likely to remember the great hands they played rather than the bad beats............that is unless your name is Phil Hellmith.....
