yeah that was a pretty dumb call on his part....i think myself short stacked would have went all in preflop if not then for sure on the flop...you had the best hand possible preflop and on the flop....not sayin u played it wrong just tellin what i would have done

What we do not know is what was done one of the two previous hands.

This is obviously the third hand of the game ... and he is down 500+ ... so what he had done in one of the two previous hands may be a part of why he was called.

Either way - the person making the call, they could afford to make it.

For some reason people neglect to factor that into things.

Yep, indeed it's the perfect way to play if you're a short stacked.

I think I would have gone all in pre-flop. If you got called and the cards didn't fall your way, oh well, live to fight another day.

    Default my 2 cents

Personally the bet after the flop was a bit low, and the reraise after his raise was definately too small, 4-5x his bet (ie you allin) would have been better IMO (Dangerous board: Flush and straight draws). By the time the turn has come the pot is sweet enough for him to stay and take the chance to knock you out and it won't cost him anymore. He probably had you on an ace and fancied his chances. The call of all in is a bit rough i admit but the problems got worse for you at the flop, thats when he made his mind up tho he probably should never had been there in the first place.

Are you dumbing the call preflop or the allin?

    Default higher preflob

a higher preflob raise may have forced to fold. Another case of slow playing aces.

nope. thanks for +feedback firstly. second this thread should be called dumb ass plays. (by me) i really just wanted to keep the fish on the line at the flop figured he would reraise. then when he did and i came over top i thought for sure he would push. either way he wasnt gonna fold and got lucky. i got pissed. gl mang.

    Default Poker is about situations

Glad you thought the feedback was positive.

Some think slowplaying is a mistake. Its a tool, and when used in the right situation, is best for the job in hand. Here the situation was clearly dangerous with the draws on the flop, and slowplaying was a mistake. Given a quieter flop then certainly i would slowplay a big hand like AAA especially if the fish wants to wriggle on the line .

Poker is about situations and each is unique. When you've a biggie take time to assess the situation before acting.
The headiness of a biggie can catch us all from time to time.
