Just over a 3/2 favourite with JJ.
What can you say about his call, especially with a raise from someone in early position.
Would anybody have laid the Jacks down?
First - you have no idea what the person has - so saying what your favorite odds are makes no sense since you had no idea what they were before you tossed your chips in.
Secondly ... In any given tournament you are going to get a combination of AA, KK, QQ, JJ a few times in the first couple hours.
Odds on any single hand, you might be a favorite. Odds on doing it four times would not be in your favor.
... oh and its a freeroll .... yea - I probably would have thrown all in. I would have just closed the window and gone on with whatever it was I was doing and not have thought about it again if I lost.

LOL,
That's exactly what I did do. I don't let it get to me that much
True i didn't know exactly what he had, but I did consider the hands that he might be playing and I figured that if it was one of the three (AA, KK, QQ) that were beating me at that time that it a thoughtless bet and therefore it was more likely to be a weak hand bluffing or AK,AQ even AJ. My read was right in that there were more hands loosing than were beating me.
I agree with the odds over time at a table of tight skilled players, but as you said this was a freeroll where the range of hands being played is greater. I am comfortable with my play though not happy about my start in the league. ah well another 23 to go.
Seen you in a few tournaments, including this one and agree with you to go all-in, especially in a freeroll tournament, but not necessarily in a money tournament.
Forgive my ignorance when you are a 3/2 favorite, but does'nt this apply only after you see the hole cards, and is meaningless pre-flop?
p.s. I like the way you play.
i never lay jacks down preflop in a tourney one time it was a 3.30 KO on FT i was heads up and JJ won it for me it beat AK so JJ has been my favorite hand ever since then.
well i think the first hand of a freeroll u should fold with any 2 cards lol there are like 3 people willing to call with rags and probably catch a straight ...happens all the time
Well, being this is a freeroll and all, your opponent figured he had live cards and felt like gambling. A 3/2 favorite gets dropped often. I don't fault you for calling with a decent hand though.
