Default Officially the worst BB I have ever had...

It's a freeroll on bodog exactly 15 minutes ago... I have 1,700 chips, and the Table chip leader is being a AHOLE and has gone all in 6 hands in a row. He has 8,735 in chips. So of course I'm not gonna call him unless it is the perfect situation. I'm on the button everyone folds and it is up to me, then him, then the BB. Blinds are only 20/40, I would never go all in in any other circumstance, but this. I have 6 6 so I call 40, so I can see if the BB calls the stupid asses all in so I don't get caught against a real hand. The big blind folds, and I type in "If you beat me I'm gonna kill you"... I call. He turns over 7 2, (no 7, no 7, no 7)... that is all I'm thinking, because I can't stand losing to morons! Guess what no 7 came!!! The flop was 2 2 2. I about S**T my pants, I couldn't believe it. I really want to play for real money so this crap doesn't happen to me any more. I seriously get beat this way in every freeroll I play in, except the 4kingpoker ones.

Default bad beat - but dont risk it

hi

that is a terrible bad beat - statistically

but I would just try to keep your cool and not let all-in players get to you

to be honest (not sure if this was the case) but if I am chip leader and the table seems to be getting tight or I'm "getting too much respect" (ie. I had a big hand which failed to get any action because everyone is wise to me playing only solid hands) I change gear - sometimes dramatically

this may (may) be what he was doing - If for example I figure I'm about due a decent hand and I figure I have position and can bully with an all-in or two that almost certainly wont get called - I will allin a couple of times to steal (but generakky with something half decent) in the hope that within a few hands I will get a monster - allin again and hope to get called with lower PP or 10or higher mixed pictures

I dont know if this was his game (6 allins seems a bit excessive)

anyway the important thing for you is to NOT feel the need to try and take him out

I would be hesitant to call his all-in with anything less than 10 10 or better (really QQ KK AA)

and generally if I think someone is being an idiot I wouldnt go in with less than 88

66 is just far to vunerable - its almost certain that at worst they will have two live over cards
and 77 or better puts them an 80% favourite

so expecially when the blinds are this low - dont dont dont feel the need to try to take specific players out

yes definately try to get into the head of other players - but dont personalise the game beyond trying to read them - dont get into battles

one players chips are worth the same as anyone elses at this stage in a tournament - later stages taking out players (in terms of numbers) is important - but early on you must take advantage of the easy chips

when I say easy chips - that means easy chips not allin showdowns - because luck like this will happen and then your out

at best you would have doubled up from 1700 to 3400 - 1700 chips can easily be picked up over 3 solid hands for 500-600 chips a hand without the stress of allins

hope thats a help ;-)

cheers scrawnybob

Default It helps

I appreciate the help. In all honesty, if had money on the line I wouldn't have called there. I agree with everything you said, and that is how I play. In some of these freerolls, people like the guy I mentioned "I gotta go, free chips", come up far to often. That was my point anyway, but heads up I would think 6's would be pretty good. It just gets really "REALLY" frustrating to watch guys do that crap, when you could be bettering your poker game elsewhere! You see what I'm getting at

Not a spot where you should have called. A marginal hand like 6s shrinks when calling an all-in. You're in a coin flip against an average hand and only about a 60% favorite against 72 offsuit. In theory, your call was the worst play made in this hand.

Cool

should of not called but sometimes people get the best of you when they do that i found myself doing that but i have learned not to do that and just know that he is not going far and the only was he will is sitting away when the blinds go up to 50-100 and try to cash in

The way he won is very rare, but if he hit one 7 (3 outs) he beated you too.
You only have a medium/small pair and 2 outs (without count possible stright or flush outs) to improve your hand.
He is a donkey, but finally he obtained that you played the game that he wanted.

After recalculating the numbers, you made a great call statistically and lost. In theory, with the guy pushing with any two cards, an average hand was i a coin flip with you. He had well below average holdings and outdrew you, and could have easily dominated you. The best advice I can give you is to continue to play solid poker, especially during the first hour and a half of a freeroll. Next time, pick a better spot to gamble with a loose player and you'll get a better result. Chances are, he didn't win because I doubt he changed gears at any point.
