I Was In A Tourney Last Nite On Poker4ever. It Was Down To The Final Table With Two Of Us Left. My Opponent Just About Covered Me In Chips. Anyway My Opponent Is Sb And Gets Dealt 10 5 Os, While I Get Dealt Pockets 8's Bb. The Sb Raises Half His Stack, So I Re-raised All-in And He/she Called.
The Flop Comes Down (7 6 9), No Flush Draw. The Turn Comes (k). Everything Is Fine Up To Now. The River Comes (8), I Have Hit 3 Of A Kind And My Opponent Has Hit A Lucky Straight Knocking Me Out In 2nd. He Was A Right Donkey.

you were unlucky - but pressure at the end of a final table from the increasing blinds make players think and do all sorts of crazy things

Im guessing he thought that you thought that he was thinking he was really up against the blinds and needing to make a move with anything

which made him think that you thought that he would think you were just trying to steal the blinds

when in fact you had a very strong hand

either that or he WAS in fact a total donkey

either way you did the right thing - badbeats happen because rarely is a hand a 100% sure thing

and where there is a 1% chance of losing - you will eventually loose exactly 1% of the time in that situation
