Today I lost a $1300 pot at the casino playing $2/$4. I bought in for $200 and over the next two hours took down many a pots, bringing my stack up to around $650. I'm second to act pre-flop and I make it $24 to go with my two red Kings. A few folds, one guy goes all in for $100 a couple more fold and then one guy behind me thinks forever and makes it $200 to go. I didn't put him on aces, I figured he had a big pair though or a big ace and wanted to make it heads up with the guy that went all in for $100, so I push all in, putting him on a big decision. He thinks and thinks and thinks and calls. He had around the same chips as me, and the pot was around $1300. The guy that went all in for $100 rolls over TJ lol and the other guy QQ. Flop is TK4 all spades, turn is 5 of clubs and the river is the 8 of spades... one of his Queens, was the queen of spades...
in casino you win 9 of 10 times with the same play. Obvius you whant your opponent all in preflop with his 2 outs when you have over pair. You win some and you lose some.
I don't consider anything a bad beat anymore. Any 2 cards can be winners and any 2 cards can be losers. A bad beat to me is when I go to hit the fold button and click all in by mistake.
I am also SICK of the word sick being used to describe a "bad beat" . But I guess I have to live with it.
That is a really tough one to swallow. The guy has no business in the pot and winds up outdrawing 2 big pairs on a river straight. If I were you, get that guy heads-up as often as you can, because you'll break him frequently and he'll never know why. Good to see an example that was in live play. You do everything right and still lose, but that's poker right!!!!!!!!
