bad poker vs. bad poker players

i usually dont like to agree with phil hellmuth on anything
but i truley am starting to believe that most of the peopple who
play poker cant even spell it.
heres the hand oh and just so you know this happened on ultimatebet.com
i am in first position with ace 10 i dont raise preflop (i.e. the bad poker part)
everyone else folds but the button who raises 3 times the blinds
the big blind calls as do i.
the flop is ace king jack the big checks i raise the pot and the button folds
the turn comes a 3 the big checks i bet the big raises i reraise. the big
calls me all in he has ace 3 i miss the river and he wins.


what bothers me is the big had ace with second worst kicker possible didnt recognize i was betting out of position and called the only thing he could have hoped for before the river was runner runner to make the str8<i.e. the bad poker player> but he is rewarded for being reckless and thinks he made a great play


oh well just needed a place to vent

Tough beat indeed. Sad thing is (as you probably already know) that good players will always take bad beats, poor players will always dish out bad beats, but great players somehow manage to "shake it off" without letting it affect their game.

The more I play the more I realize that sitouts, donks, bad luck and the river are constants in this game and the only thing that I can control is my play. When I first started playing this game, all I did was lose. Five years later, I still lose just as much, if not more, the only difference now is once in a while I'll get lucky and win one.
