lol actually my very first experience with poker involved my friend turning a straight flush. He was playing on party poker and I was watching because i knew nothing about poker. He was teaching me and I don't remember the limit he was playing on.

All i remember was that he had around $220. He hit a straight flush on the turn and got all excited. On the river he went allin and got called. We were jumping up and down, when we saw all his money go to the other guy! We were all confused and angry and went to the history to see what happened.

Well here is how it went down.

He had the 9 of spades and the board was 10 jack king of spades. The queen of spades comes on the turn and a dud on the river.

lol the other guy had the freakin ace of spades. I should have never kept playing poker after that. The poker gods were trying to tell me something.... oh well. Thats what he gets for teaching me this addictive game.

NO BUT ONCE I HAD A A AND THE FLOP WAS AA2 AND SOME WENT ALL IN WITH KQ THEN THE TURN WAS 10 AND THE RIVER WAS J I NEVER LOST WITH ST8 FLUSH BUT THIS WAS AS BAD AND IT WOULD NOT BE HARD TO LOSE ON ST8 FLUSH IF THE FLOP AND TURN WERE 5678 OF AND YOU HAD 4

    Default what?

I guess if you are the unlucky bastard with a losing straight flush, you should really think about trying chess. I've only seen a straight flush in a live game one time, no one beat it thats for sure.

in live games the chance that your str8 flush could be beaten is very lo, but online poker softs are so stupidly deals cards so u can easily lose it. it's like fixed, I watched many times, quads loses, str8 flush loses. if u noticed it always happens on river, because softs gives you time to bet all ya money, and then BAH on river all gone. I lost with my str8 to Royal once, so I never be confident that I win even with str8 flush.

    lol Son

you got to learn which are the nuts so you can judge if there are still better hands possible to be in the game. Then and only then it is possible to judge the oponents bet more precise and decide wether to fold, call, raise or if necessary go all-in.

I lose with a straight flush:

    My cards:
    2 3

    Flop: 4 5 8

    I bet, one guy calls.

    Turn: 6

    bet and the guy calls.

    River: 3

Allin, the guy calls... and shows 7 8

    I get bitter.
