Default wwant to move to payside of pokerstars

I have been playing on pokerstars.net for about a year now (lightly..about twice a week). Hit the 500k mark about a week ago, and now closing in a million. Have been thinking of moving to the pay site but not sure how it works. Dont want to end up betting my house LOL. Can anyone tell me cost, payout etc?

you can open up a real money account without depositing, won't cost you anything. they have some freerolls there but its tough to build a bankroll without depositing. best of luck to you in the real money games.

Thanks I'll try that. Not too worried about the bankroll aspect. Just looking to have some fun and playing with monopoly money is getting kind of dull.

Are you US player or other?

To Ihavequestions: I am a US player. To DISTUBED: I have entered 2 freerolls and placed 4500/9000 and 2000/9000, which isnt so bad considering I had been "card dead" all weekend, and landed on a crazy "all in everyhand" table that chipped away at my $2500 stack. So your right, its difficult but we will see what happens. Just havin some fun

    Hey
Just wanted to add that you can open a real account almost everywhere to play freerolls only if that what's you're looking for.
You should check out the 4kp offer there:

    Review

And according to my own experience, you might be able to earn money faster on smaller rooms like Carbon, Bodog or Cake which offer you the opportunity to play several FRs a day with smaller field and real money to win.
PS mainly offer satelitte FRs with a huge field of player, then when you earn the ticket, you still have to deal with another huge field to earn some $.
FullTilt could also be a nice try for you.
    Just my 2p.

Thanks, I'll try those too. Finally made the million mark. Had a bad weekend, fell back down to 500k and clawed my way up to the million mark this morning. Gettting better at the freerolls too needed to adjust from the free money tables and made it to 1200/9000. Got my stack up to $7000 and got a little cocky, took a couple of bad beats and that was my tournament.

There are plenty of super micro buyin games on Pokerstars. I'm not familiar with many of them as I don't play in them... but do know there are alot of 10cent games... ie. 360player SNG's costing only 10cents for buyin (pretty sure the play is horrendous but the reward is obviously worth the risk).
If you're used to playing large-field MTT's, Pokerstars has some micro buyin MTTs with some bucks added to the prizepools. There is a 25cent buyin and a 50cent buyin that run daily (I think there's $50 or $100 added to the prizepool).
You can also play 10FPP tourneys (large field, small payout... a few hours to win a few cents but I'd be pretty sure the play would be better than the playmoney stuff).

On the Pokerstars SNG tables, I know of a bunch of players who are able to play profitably on the $3 turbo SNG's. The $6 turbo SNG's have fairly decent play. If you choose this route I'd highly suggest reading up on a bunch of SNG strategy stuff, and if turbos become your choice, read up on turbo-specific stuff because the shove/fold game is very important (it's not all about luck & donkeys fluking out as many will want to believe... I.C.M. is a very important thing to factor in with the shove/fold game in the single table turbo sngs... if you arm yourself with knowledge you will do ok).
Stars also has $4 180-plyr. SNG's that run all day long as soon as the lobby fills up. THese games have a fairly decent structure so there is a fair bit of room to play poker in them. Be prepared for high variance... going 20games in these with zero cashes is not uncommon at all.. but going deep on the occassional final table will make up for it.

Also, probably first & foremost,...no matter how good of a poker player you might be, bankroll management is key if you're hoping to be a winning player. It is not hard to abide by (especially if you're a bankroll nit like myself). Typically you don't want to buyin for more than 2% of your roll for an MTT or SNG (or 40buyin rule)... approx. the same for the cash tables (ie. FullRing, or 6-Max).... 20-40buyins is recommended.
If you choose to play the cash tables (^^), I'd recommend putting in the time at 2NL prior to moving up in limits and to try to play at least 10,000 hands at each limit prior to moving up.
If you're interested in some SNG Strategy info./links, etc., just send me a pm and I'll try to help to point you in some good directions to help make your play more profitable.

    GL on the tables!!
PS, I'm pretty sure by the sound of your enthusiasm for the game, you will enjoy the real money tables alot more than the play money.

vierkonigas,if you have play money you can exchange it to real money.

    Default Real money exchange

Pokerstars does not exchange play money for real, I emailed support and asked them how to exchange and they said they do not do that. I have stuck my toe in the water and set up a real money account, just &25.00. Had some mixed success. won a 6 player 7-2 lowball tourney and placed 2nd in another. And made the "money" (38 cents) in a FL Holdem tourney. Been making good money in the 5 card draw and 2-7 lowball ring games about 5-6 dollars per game and lost good$ in the holdem ring games. All in all I'm down a couple of bucks but having a lot more fun. Going to start concentrating on the draw and 7-2 games and 1 -2 dollar buy in tourneys.
