At the moment, I have focused my time, money, and attention on limit hold'em cash games. I want to play STT/MTT, but many of these are NL. Yes, I am aware that some of the larger sites offer FL MTTs, but from what I hear, fixed limit is not very good in a tournament format. I am trying to play well, and am trying to structure my learning so as not to leave any holes.
I did real the thread titled "How to avoid cash games" - my approach/outlook is different than the OP of that thread. I am well aware of BRM, and use it religiously. The brunt of the advice given was to simply stay in bankroll, but beyond that : I want to know how to balance limit cash with no limit STT/MTT in my poker studies.
Basically, I'd like to know if it is reasonable to actively play both limit and NL. People acct as if there is such a massively huge chasm that no mortal can cross - is it really that bad ?
What additional steps would I need to take to leverage my limit cash game experience to exploit NL cash games and MTT ? Many people speak as if the difference is as big as the one between Texas Hold'em and Omaha.... but I have to wonder about that. I mean, what is the big deal ?
