Im wondering what books are recommended for NLHE tournaments. I have read the HOH series...ne other suggestions?
I personally read them all and try to learn from each of them.
Obviously Super Sytsems and Super Systems II for basic strategies.
Online Aces I liked.
Online Poker (Brunson)
I assume HOH is Harrington on Holdem?
Hold'Em Poker by Skalansky
Yea the the Harrington on Holdem...thanks for the other book titles im going to check them out
I have heard Gus Hansen's book
Every Hand Reveaealed is a good read for those that like to think outside the box
Has anyone read this as i'm thinking of getting it myself
I have not read that one.
I haven't read Hansen's book either, but I do agree getting back to the basics can never hurt one's game and the Super System series are always a good read.

I have a copy of Gus's book and it's an intresting one. I wouldn't buy it as a reference book on poker strategy as it's just how he played each hand in a specific tournement.
It almost reads as a novel and you do get to understand his style and a get a clue to how he thinks but I think there would be few who could emulate him.
Some of the hands he wins because of his known table image.
Overall in my opinion it's a great read and a must for all Gus fans but not a general playing guide

I've read it a couple of times but really wasn't impressed by it at all. After reading the introduction I was pretty pumped up to read it but then I felt like I was just left hanging. There's nothing special about the thought processes that are described in that book and in my opinion it's like a beginner donkament strategy book compared to some of the online pro's stuff that is out there.
For tournament play, I think SUPER SYSTEM is the absolute poops.
Kill Phil & Kill Everyone get rave reviews and have heard they are worth checking out (I've read Kill Phil.. didn't like it much, lol.. but have heard that Kill Everyone is the sheee-it).
Best NLHE Tournament book by far (by a landslide) is "Winning Poker Tournaments - One Hand At A Time" by Eric Lynch, JonVanFleet, & Jon Turner (aka >> Rizen, Apestyles & PearlJammed) put together by Matt Hilger. THis book is truly awesome!!! Check out the reviews for it on the internet (so I don't have to go into detail about it here, lol).
Trust me though... best NLHE Tournament play book you will ever read (ever printed).
For lower buyins online it might not be the greatest as it is geared for playing against mostly thinking players so if one gets too into it and translates it to the micros they might fall into FPS (fancy play syndrome). Aside from that though, it gives one the oppurtunity to see how the pros 'really' think.. and why they do what they do.
... I'd challenge anyone to find a better tournament book on the market.
