Only at Poker Stars at a final table satelite can you play 110 hands worth crap and finally move allin from the small blind and the big blind has a better hand then all 110 hands you patiently folded or didnt hit on. That site makes millions a day keeping the bad players and building that cheat machine.

Hey jb, I was starting to believe you, but I played a separate pokersite, and my pocket AA's lost 2 hands in a row, to a k10 offsuite. then i decide to go all in with lesser hands, such as qq and jj. The both got called by a 2-7 and 35 respectively. Of course, I lost those hands too.
So I logged off and went to a 3rd pocker site. A guy goes all in w/AA, I laugh saying you just lost money. he lost to a 97 suited. You could be onto something, lol.
It is like 1 step forward 2 steps back. And, looking at your game where mistakes can be minimized. Because rule 1 is lose as little as possible with your losing hands and win as much as possible with winning hands. The problem is you can play so conservative that
the website makes money off your small blind and big blinds, while you fold a 1000 hands looking for the right time to jump in. You know you can't go all in with an AA, so does it mean playing with only non face cards as so many players do.
I did win $8 bucks yesterday on a bluff. I am small chip stack and 9 players get paid. I am the bubble. I get big slick, and 2 jacks come up on the board. I minimun raise $200 after raising pre-flop. The guy calls my $200. The turn is a rag I call $200. The guy comes over the top with a re-raise of $700. I should fold, but I lie to myself and say I am pot committed. On the river, rag. I raise my last $250 in chips, and he folds down, even though he has $3700 chips left. Thank goodness for lady luck. She is the only one who can help my game.

eberetta ... so you're minraising, minbetting & calling w <10bb's? while on bubble as the shortstack? If so, this is your first mistake.
As far as OP's post goes.... this is just nonsense... seriously. You know what, I gave up telling my cat about my badbeats more than a year ago (God knows nobody else wanted to hear about it).Brad Booth - > "Like a fight... it's not how you start, it's how you finish"

To bet or not to bet...
I like playing heads up style most, but have tried to be more conservative in the other games as I've been told patience is everything...?...and have got a weird style of betting now, which doesn't really suit my game at all. Result is I'm underbetting hands and not pushing at the right time or making too small a bet when I'm in a good position...
back to the drawing board...

you will never win folding 110 hands
hi
this might not be the most constructive way to put this but ...
you will never win anything folding 110 hands in a row
it is as simple as that
if your playing SO tight that you had no actual hands in 110 deals then you will get blinded away and / or completely out played should you decide to play a hand
according to your rough stats thats not one hand played in 10 rotations ... IMHO complete madness
you HAVE to play some hands, you HAVE to represent hands
I am the first to admit I play TOO loose and try to make TOO many attempts (possibly badly) to take down any and all pots that I think are orphan or playable
BUT afaiks your taking it to the other extreme ... if you play this tight there is zero skill involved ... in exactly the same way as going allin on every hand is luck ... not playing any hands makes it SO obvious to any other player that when you play your 111th hand ... you must have been dealt aces or kings ... or infact I would think a miss deal that you do 4 cards not 2
this is suposed to be constructive ... but playing like a nit / textbook ABC tight rock ... will NOT NEVER win you a tournament or games
even a tight 20% to the flop rate means seeing at least the flop from the button and the big blind every round ... and IMHO there is absolutely NO WAY anyone can get dealt 110 hands and not have found some playable in some shape or form
just my 2p ... feel free to ignore

Liked the 27 points to improve your game, scrawnybob, I agreed with all of them...might try them out...can only get better!!!

I often play ace/king and have managed to do ok with it, but lately hasn't done me much good, so will try to adjust for that.Last edited by Washerwoman; 02-18-2010 at 12:16 AM.
