Default What BUy in Level Is real Comp and not DOnk Comp

THis is not to be cocky cause My game is far from great but I think I can hang at some levels with good players.

BUt at what buy in level do you get rid of crazy play and get players that arent looking to double up every hand with all in nothings

I got so many new strategies I wanna try, but the low level games you cant even put in info bets or you end up in all in free for alls. and ODDS or not Im getting pot committed on preflop or flop when Im just trying to find where everyone is at. OR AM IFOLDING hands I shouldnt to much due to all in crap

in the lower games, I dont think people even know your aksing this kind of questions with a bet and they take it as IM GONNA GET YA, well you can oonly do this so many times before your donked out.

(SORRY IF I HIT CAPS SOMETIMES, THE ONLY THING IT MEANS IS I HIT CAP LOCK BY MISTAKE)

    see what Im saying

It very odd and Im not saying I dont fall into this catogory, but I can see scarred money earlier in MTTS' and the bad thing for all the big improvments I make early on MID TOURNY I got right back into scarred money but Im slowly realizing (THESE PEOPLE HATE ME AND I WANT TO SEND IT RIGHT BACK) but I gotta be as hardcore early on as I am later but I got learn the swititching gears or not,

    anyways

If you are referring to tournaments, you will probably get better competition in the $100 and $200 buy ins. You will still run into loose players, since some qualify through satelites, but the overall play is solid. As for ring games, look at $2/$4 limit hold em and $3/$6 no limit hold em to get a little action going.
When at the tables, play for the love of the game and show respect for your opponents.

I have played at a few different stakes, up to $24, and as far as I can see, there are donks and terrible players at all levels.

The best answer is to just adjust to these idiots and take them for all they're worth.

Wait for your big hand and take them down.

Sure, they'll suck out on ya from time to time but mostly you will take their stack.

Just don't mess about with hands like AK, AQ etc. when you miss the flop cos you can be sure they hit their junk hands.

Hmm WILLIE SAY $100 $200 buy in, maybe I will have to just stay at the level Im at and just learn to play smarter poker, I have noticed when I think and am focused 100% on the game, I can usually make the right calls, granted they dont always win but If I feel I played it right than I cant ask for more, but the tips aint kidding, if your not 100% focuses you are 100% screwed, I really respect you players that can play multiple boards at once as I have trouble managing 2.

WOW $3/$6 NL, just saying that scares me, but I guess winning a few big pots can offset losing some big pots too. What kind of buyin is that $60 or $600.

PEtey says stay down there with him at his level, from what I saw at the 4KSOP main event I have a long way to go to be anywhere near your level, (GREAT SHOWING)

BLUFF I think youre right on target, Im sure there are some rich dudes who can lose a few grand online and play anything and not blink an eye. I just gotten sharpen my skill set and this board has taught me so much as the books have too but now I gotta get the package together and quit being that donk playing LOL

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED TO THIS THREAD AS THIS THREAD WAS A STUPID THREAD I MADE AND REALLY WANTED GONE BECAUSE IT MAKES ME SOUND LIKE A MORON, WHEN I CAN START BEATING THE LEVELS IM AT, THEN SOMEONE LIKES ME CAN MAKE COMMENTS ABOUT DONKS AND REAL COMP right now I can play really well sometimes and sometimes play so bad that I get eaten up an chewed up even if I play a hand correctly. and not even realized how bad Im being trapped. Sometime I hate relooking at some of the stupid stuff I have posted. YES IM SO FN GOOD LIKE I WOULD EVEN KNOW REAL COMP FROM DONK COMP. Maybe in a year or so, but right now Im just good ole fishfood for the masses but, I wont be forever and then I can post crazy crap like this. LIKE EMINEM SAID IM CLEANING OUT MY CLOSET and hate that I even started a thread like this.

Its all good Dan, don't trip potato chip, and by the way thank you very much for the compliment about my play but i really am not that good, why because i could care less about ABC poker or what cards i should play etc etc, i go with whatever the table flow is telling me to do, and when you know that most people out there play very predictable poker, ( they play by the book cuz they aren't donks, lol ) then its not that hard to cash a few times and win every so often, But the same style i succeed with i also come crashing down with against those same ABC players so its never a sure thing, just hang in there and play how ever you feel comforatable

You'll actually find alot of good players who are playing 50nl & even more of them in 100nl. There are TONS of regs. in 100nl. The jump from 100nl to 200nl is usually a big one - - alot of winning 100nl players have trouble adjusting to the 200nl regs. (soI've heard). Even on the 50nl tables you'll be sitting with players who've played 100-200 thousand hands +

As far as MTT play goes - - it depends.
ie. on Pokerstars in the $10 buyin level you'll get alot of random donks in the early levels but you'll also see alot of players who play an avg. buyin level much higher than $10, but they also play the $10's to fill in their schedule. In later levels the field thins out & you'll often be seated on tables with 4 or 5 regs. (guys who play ALOT & are winning players).
$25 & up on Stars.... & you'll get less donks in early levels & even more regs.

On Fulltilt - the $26donkaments have alot of bad players in them, & again with a mix of tourney regs. in there too.
$55 & up and the tables have more regs. on them then randoms.

Wouldn't you want to play with people who are complete idiots and make bad bets/calls/decisions?

I'd play the stakes that you're most comfortable with from a bankroll standpoint and play the best poker you can. Whether it be .05/.10NL or 5/10NL or the cheapest tournament buyin the game you need to be most worried about and focused on improving is your own and not wanting your competition to play better.

    No

I prefer to play against people that are more predictable and that I can manipulate.

Wasn,t a Bad Post Dan. The point i took from it was your frustrated when you make a Bet to get info but the players totally ignore it so you can,t really gather any information from your Bet.There going to call anything so you can,t rely on their reaction.I really hate this in Omaha when there is an obvious str8 on board to see and I make a Pot sized raise and get called or worse re-raised.I have the lower end of the str8 but the Raise came from tripps. Morons... lol... !! They hit a Boat.
    They don,t respect a Raise.
