Default Another what would you have done?

You have a solid stack, but not spectacular. You have about 36,000 in chips. You are in about 9th place out of 16 (but you didn't see that there were only 16 left).

You have AK in the SB and its folded to you, so you raise and the BB shoves over top. He has you covered.

Again, you don't realize you are on the bubble. You know it is close, but you figure there are about 20 players left and the top 15 cash.

Fold and try to cash or call with the best hand?

Default fold and fight another day

fold and fight another day IMHO

I dont like getting into trouble with AK

I dont like pushing for trouble with AK either

5 off the money your better off looking to pick up easier money than being on a back foot with a weak hand

    just my 2p

    cheers SB

I'd cuss, and then fold. I would have to assume BB has a spectacular hand based on how tight it gets when it's so close to the bubble. I'd probably cuss him/her after I'd folded too.
I'd be surprised if they came over the top with less than AK but I have seen it happen.
    What's the buy-in though?
I'd say that's an important factor in guestimating the other guys hand.

Ok, for $1 I would of done exactly the same as you did.
It's a horrible thing to see bad play being rewarded but that's what keeps the fish around, well that's what I keep telling myself anyway. I hope things change and change soon for you pirates831.

if u had a tough dicision to make when he raised u then i would say u put urself in a tough spot as by raising and letting him believe he had fold equity. So if u didnt want ur chips in fold or push allin initialy....having said that u ended up in a great position but clearly got unl.

every poker hand in every situation to me is different...

    people ask

should i have done this here or there?

how can you tell since the cards fall differently every time

i've been told that going with the odds and only playing position and hand strength are the keys...

    but

    i's say

    oi! u! parker-bowles! NO!

and that's an allusion to a brit comedy ace called harry enfield and his mate paul whitehouse who are just feekin wonderful...and watching harry enfield go round Eastern Europe saying he (a man he had seen in a black and white picture with striped clothing) would have been the same age as my old dad now and be pottering about happily in his garden was just wonderful and he's so perceptive...

    but, i digress...yet again...

    so...i'd say...(back on topic)

    NO

    it's more than that...

and only you know when u are in the zone...

    don't play when you're not

    cos it don't work...

    init!

Just push it all in preflop and give him the tough decision.

No need to allow him the chance to play back at you.

Chances are he may have called anyway because players at low stakes don't often like to press the fold button with such hands.

UL man, better luck next time.

Keep getting your money in good and it will turn around.

If I'm aware that were on the cusp of the money then I would cry and try to fold under these conditions. Can't tell you how many times I have pushed foolishly when I could have just sat out to the money.. UGH .. I'm getting better at it though.
