I hate misplaying a hand

Sitting with about $400 at Delaware Park Thursday night at a $1/$2 NL game

Get dealt Ah Kh in the BB. UTG limps and LP makes it $15. I decide to just call. UTG calls.

Flop comes K 6 3. I bet $20. UTG calls.

Turn is a 2, putting two hearts out there. I bet $25. UTG minraises to $50. WIth the flush draw, I decide to call ... River is a 9d.

I check. UTG bets $80. I tank and finally fold.

If I had just reraised preflop to $50, like I should have, I knock him out and get heads up with QQ or JJ, whatever LP had. (He folded the flop). He might have reraised, but he was shortstacked - maybe $140 or so and I probably would have called his shove and won $300 instead of losing $100.

Trying to play small pots ... bad move.

The only hands I can see that have you beat are K9 or a set.

what about k2 or 45 suited. oh well. i might of played that the same way coming from the bb preflop. after the flop i woulda at least bet the pot. ....might not of changed a thing though....

A set or 45. I showed my hand and he said he had me all the way after the flop.

to be honest this kinda post frustrates me a little because...You are regretting the hand with hindsight HELL i can pick 6 winning lotto numbers and the bonus ball from now to eternity after the draw.

ie - u raise $50 pre-flop u are then reraised allin now ASSUMING u would now think well i have 2 overs and because of ur own raise u are mathmatically pushed to a call hence u do so then player turns over QQ flop 8 4 2 10 j with no flush ur post would now be

if i only called pre-flop i could of got away from the hand instead i raised pre flop to take the pot and was pot commited to calling allin.


If u did not feel AT THE TIME u missed played it as in when u called pre-flop then in ur own mind you didnt miss play it............But in my opinion u could of got to see his cards anyway or definately highered ur chances if u checked as to me there are 2 options

1 he hits set - so u check so he feels he is just going to bet what he can get
2 he has weaker k - checking would make him feel more confident and this would maximise ur value from him if he is betting he may hit second pair but i would take my chances if hes already betting.

I'd say that AK suited OOP on a K x x x flush board to a reraise is scary as hell! I think anyone would second guess themselves, y'know?

I think that having the ability to fold when you think your beat is a skill. Some people can't release TP.
