No I don't. I doubt Phil Ivey would be a consistant winner in play money.
The only benefit I can think of for playing a play money table is to famiiarize yourself with the software if you're just starting out (or starting on a new site you haven't played on before). The play is so bad/unpredictable/senseless on the play money tables that it really doesn't translate well over to the real $ tables. So... I really don't think that one could make a judgement based on their performance on playchip tables as to whether or not they're ready to try their hand at real money tables.
Just start off real slow. Maybe play some freerolls (maybe not, lol).. play a bunch of 2nl (if you're intending on playing cash tables... in this case try reading a guide on beating the mircro limits... it'll serve you well).. OR try your hand at the lowest buyin SNG's (again, read up on playing SNG's... it'll make a HUGE difference in your results as there is a basic strategy to them that will make you a winning player in them & most beginners play them very poorly (ie. thinking they should try to play alot of hands & trying to win them all....quite often winning a bunch of chips at first & then quickly spewing them off afterwards and then going out in ~5th or 6th... &/or they keep limping once the blinds go up, & calling prefop raises instead of focusing on maintaining their stack so they have fold equity when they do raise/shove once the blinds are high).
GL on the real $ tables.. and forget about the play chip tables imo.
