In addition to "Phil Gordon's Little Green Book" (thanks to PO for telling me about it), he has come out with his new book "Phil Gordon's Little Gold Book".
I just got it from my local library and it appears very interesting, with an update on Hold'em. This book would also be of interest to Pot Limit Omaha players. (maybe I'll change my game - LOL)
He writes his books in a manner which is easy to understand. He does use a few examples, but does not go overboard with them - unlike other authors.
A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.
HI enno!!!!!
I actually just saw Phil's Little Gold Book at the local bookstore here in town, read thru the Table Of Contents & thought it looked pretty good.
I actually chatted with Phil G. on the FTP tables (quite awhile back now) while playing in some tournament on there (a cheapo tourney with a gazillion players but also with a bunch of the pros in it.... I think it was one of the Cancer Charity ones???)... I asked Phil, "hey Phil, when can we expect to see another book coming out by you?" He replied, "never" I asked "Why? Your other books are great reads, I actually have all of them & have thoroughly enjoyed them." He replied, "There's nothing left to write about."
I guess he found the game evolving?
Let me know what you think of the book when you're done with it enno as I was thinking of 'last-minute' add to my Christmas Wish List.

I got an 'e-reader' for Christmas (Kobo) as I've already got a couple dozen+ pokerbooks stored on my puter (some that I've barely touched because it's a drag reading them on the puter compared with sitting down with a book) & am hoping to acquire a bunch more.
It's an easy way for others to send me presents
So far I've received a few early presents with titles such as:
"Easy Game" 3rd Edition: Adaptations 'making sense of no limit hold 'em '
by Andres Seidman (balugawhale)
"The No-Limit Hold'em Workbook": Exploiting Regulars
by TRI "SLOWHABIT" Nguyen
"Hole Card Confessions"
by Owen Gaines (aka 'Qtip' DragTheBar Coach)
"Poker Math That Matters"
by Own Gaines
"Don't Listen to Phil Helmuth"
by Dusty Schmidt (aka 'Leatherass' DragTheBar Coach)
... got this ^ as a gift from captain of team in a Homegame league
There's still a couple more on my 'Wish List'....
"Raiser's Edge"
"Elements of Poker" by Tommy Angelo
(... probably should have read this ^ one years ago as I know it deals with the stuff I have some of the most trouble with .. 'emotions', lol)
Also looking forward to the release of "Winning Poker Tournaments - One Hand At A Time 'Vol.3' (was supposed to be ready for release at the beginning of Dec.2011 but still no sign of it)

Sklansky: "Theory of Poker"
My first book was " The Little Green Book" by Phil Gordon..... it gives some good info for any poker player new or old (like me, I'm 65 years old,,lol),,,,Take care
I got one of them Kindle thingysfor Christmas. These two were among the first downloads. I think they are probably better the other way round though.
Add to this "The Mental Game of Poker" by Jared Tendler, this is a great book and I'm slowly easing my tilt problems with it.
If you are a cash player another book to get hold of by all accounts is "Crushing the Microstakes" written by Nathan Williams aka "BlackRain79" This is on my list to get.
