Thread: The Power Of Positive

    Default The Power Of Positive

I dont know about the rest of you, but i win way more when im happy, and lose like crazy when im not. people say a positive attitude will bring you far in life, and i agree.
anger is only one letter away from danger when poker is involved.
    any other opinions?

Bill you are 100 % right, i have noticed that when my mind is right and had a decent day with no negatives that i do way better and cash out more often. When i have had a shitty day either at work or with something that occured at home i will play and even if i am focused but still angry the cards never fall good for me and i end up even madder

I agree 100% also. I don't know if it actually affects the cards you get, but I win when I am in a great mood. It seems when I am upset, nothing goes right. I think just being in a good frame of mind helps you make much better decisions. But I have often wondered, does thinking positively actually change the way things happen? I don't think it does, but it does seem this way sometimes. Peace.

I also agree 100%, anytime i get mad while im playing or if im already mad and i start playing i usually make stupid decisions and they cost me everytime. I try 2 stay calm and just focus on the game but sumtimes its too much and i end up losing cuz im mad and not concentrating the way i should be.

Amen to that. All it takes is one bad decision in a tourney, and it is all downhill from there... A good frame of mind is essential to poker success.

It's often the case that perception becomes reality. If we believe we will fare poorly when we're not in a positive mood, the probability of this actually happening increases. It's probably a subconscious thing, but we don't play our best because we expect not to.

I find that it takes alot more than one donking in a tourney and actually it'll rarely affect my future decisions... although... it might be a bit but without me even realizing (what I'm saying is... I believe I can pull it together but maybe my subconcious is affecting me??

Today I had like 5donkings in a row.. in decent tourneys online & it hasn't phased me one bit (talking about losing 80/20's in spots where... winning puts us in decent shape.. losing 'gg'). "NEXt" lol

And I justs had two more .. LOL. Today it's been feeling pretty smooth (water off duck's back sorta thing). Getting wayyyyyy better at accepting & moving on.... knowing you've played the hand well & affirming that if you had it to do over.. it'd be exactly the same decision.... no big deal (wasn't always this way for me.. far from it).

I know that this often SEEMS to be the case.It may affect how I bet my hands if I,m feeling like nothing is going my way.I may become gun shy and wait to see that the TURN card for example isn,t another suited card after two have flopped or same thing for a str8 flop.I see the cards and the RACE and see he is on a Draw and I,m ahead and I think watch it,s going to Flush on the River. !! Negative thoughts for sure !!
But seriously does the Poker Site,s RPG know your in a Negative mood and just want to punish you more ?? lol

Absolutely not RG, but even though the rooms can't tell our moods somehow and someway my mood always seems to affect my game. It could be in a bunch of differant ways but it is still affected positively and negatively
