By 'support' I'm not sure what you actually mean? Do you mean 'solely' or 'supplement'?

Personally I've never really put in any time massively grinding much of anything online... more so just playing recreationally. My motivation comes mostly from wanting to improve all the time & I enjoy the nature of the game, ie. game theory, competition, etc..

As a sideline hobby I've managed to add a few hundo to the bank each month (on avg.). In the back of my mind though, I do still ponder the thought of putting in some volume, building the roll & moving up in stakes (< I play mostly MTT but also some SNG/MTT... a bit of cash tables but mostly just for 'fun' at the lowest limits, often on sites I'm attempting to build a roll up from nothing.... sometimes just to have another site to play on 'for fun', other times in hopes of grinding it up enough to have a bit of a roll to work with for MTT's).

imo, it can definitely be done though ('it' being > playing online poker to earn a living). It would take ALOT of dedication, time, motivation/drive, perseverance, patience, etc. etc. to get to a point where one is actually making a decent enough amount. At one time this was kinda my goal with online poker. The more I played though, the less interest I had in this. (initially my goals were to build bankrolls on sites in order to keep moving up in limits, but along the way I've regularly taken money off the sites & have never kept a roll big enough on any of them to be able to actually play regularly at limits where you could even make anything substantial on an hourly basis.... I think the most I've kept on a site is ~$3k).
