depends on deposition and the players on the table, if i know there are aggresssive ones behind me i would probably just limp and hope that they raise so i can surprise with a big reraise. with less aggressive players i would definetly raise becausce i don't want to get outdrawn.
i guess this is the better strategy ...
a small raise, many players in pot, is a very bad situation ...
people making 2 pair in ragged flop ... flush, str8
low stakes propably worse ...
people call blinds with any hand ...
2x the bb is too small of a pre-flop raise, you're asking for people to call with iffy-hands, and you are bound to lose to some luck. a solid pre-flop raise eliminates a lot of hands. a lot of people lose with aces because they refuse to accept that a/a can, in fact, lose post-flop because there are other cards out on the board. basically, pre-flop don't slowplay, and post-flop, be careful and know when you need to lay it down.
of course, sometimes people get trickey with rockets by limping, etc., but don't do it if you don't know what you're doing.

all in with AA is suicide. Win big or loose it all? Not the kind of thought pattern I like to use. I also would rather raise 4 5 times blind and be watchfull from there. Being able to loose alittle verses all. hmmmm
