just picking up on something mentioned earlier re: freerollers / play money v real money

I don't think Titan have a bigger play money player to real money player ratio than any of the other sites IMHO

most sites have far more play money players than real money players - personally I don't really get it - play money is about the worst way to learn to play poker I can think of - and I just don't see how anyone can enjoy it pass the first week online.

So Get depositing (through our banners / bonus codes etc) ;-)

I think play money is useful for checking out a site and getting used to the basic layout & features - beyond that I think play money is bad for your development as a player

OK you could build your bankroll from nothing if your prepared to play alot of freerolls -

Eventually you may have enough money to play very low limits - but thats an awful lot of if's and an awful lot of time you could be playing low limit cash games / tournies and really buiding your bankroll. Even playing low-limits you should have $100-$200 min - thats alot of freerolling to do.

Mostly play the SnG's there which I seem to do quite well at. The 1-5 dollar SnG's are difficult, but as you move up you seem to get better players and can actually win them more often than the lower ones (play mostly 10 and 20 dollar ones and very rarely the 50 dollar ones)! Got close to the Rio SnG jackpot too ($20). Won 4 in a row and needed 6 to take the jackpot of $25,000. Busted out early on number 5. Not sure if I got beat by better players or I just clammed up........probably a bit of both.

Don't play the ring games much, maybe the micro's to get rid of a tilt.

I don't think that many actually do. I've yet figured out how they pay for all those freerolls.

They would make a fair bit from all the buy ins and such - weekends seems the busiest, when I am on is a bit quiet as it is the middle of the night\early morning in the northern hemisphere.

i 100% agree with you.. it's 200% easier to win the higher buy-in s&gs than lower..
i was close to Dirty Dozen when i started playing.. won 3 and was in top 4 in the 4th..
but that was when i was playing every ace and every suited card .. (really bad player - i wanna say) ... but now.. i rarely can go into money..

rio jackpot seems very nice to me.. but buy-in is very big for me (for now) .. 20$ - i would play that at the pressure.. but hey.. 3 places get money.. i gonna watch some of the tourneys to see which class of players is playing there.. for me, it's always easier to get money with better players, than with those which are calling my every raise.. (for ex.. on swansea or DD if i raise my AKs or QQ 5-6 BB i'm always called by minimum 3 (or 4) players) - and if my Ace or King hits the flop, i'm losing to two pairs like 7-10 or something..
i don't know how to play that kind of players on s&gs.. (but i really really like when i met them on heads-up tourneys) ..

Yeah inexperienced/loose agressive/gung ho types can kill you off, but I reckon you have to put your foot down most of the time. I find that if you show weakness early with those types then they will continue to do it to you. If you play strong then they back off a heap........sometimes lol.

I have played in tournaments with peeps like that early on they seem to hold a massive chip lead, then as time goes on, you hardly ever see them

I love the Rio SnG (even though by my BR I shouldn't really be playing it). I win more than I lose at the moment (and place in about half the wons I don't win). Keeps me afloat lol.

//Note I am an inexperienced player also - with a heap of flaws in my game - I just do not go gung ho on absolutley everything like some I come up against and can switch from loose agressive all the way through to tight passive....depending on what is happening at any given table. I still get in a whole world of hurt - usually becasue I do not read the table/other players correctly.

i built my bankroll from nothing.. i remember when i started playing - and learning the rules.. first poker i ever downloaded was paradise poker.. i started playing in play money there, than on william hill.. but i got bored - there was no competition motive in those games.. first tourney i ever played was that freemillion on paradise poker.. i remember, i was out in 1st or 2nd hand.. i didn't knew what all-in means - someone moved allin and i called with cards like J3 or something.. i didn't realized that this is my last hand on tourney

then i went to google, find out pokerlistings, and started downloading poker rooms.. i downloaded more than 20 for 1 day.. then started playing play money tourneys.. (it was real fun for me.. i played on pacific and party poker (lot of play money tourneys))

that bored me too, so i started playing freerolls.. i loved titan at first site - i really liked the interafce (you can choose the avatar, dealer sounds, etc.. all that was fun for me) .. and started playing freerolls ... i remember my first fin.. it was about 60 cents.. but that wasn't enough to go to the ring game there was a real procedure to open a credit card here in Serbia to deposit, bank wire transfer are unavalible (you can send transfer money only to your family, but you can't receive)) and i wanted to realize before the deposit what is the difference when playing in freerolls then playing for your real money .. so i needed another 40 cents.

and then came my 2nd.. it was huge.. 2nd place in a freeroll ... looool - 15$ .. i can play a lot for that ammount (15,62 on account) .. i played like a fish.. catching gutshots, backdoor flushes, 33 - sets on river.. etc.. like all "fish" do and got lucky,.. i had 5 x more chips on headsup but lost.. i could use 10$ more, but i was delighted with my bankroll

then i started playing at ring NL games, realized that isn't for me .. (too much pressure, you can play good 3 hours, but one mistake and you lost it all) .. and invented a headsup tourneys.. (for 1$!) - one win, one lose, then two wins, one loss.. always more wins than losses . 2nd day with my bankroll, started playing s&gs and hups, and i won 3 dirty dozen in a row.. (in the money on 4th one) - i won more than 50euros for 1 day! i say to myself - i can win millions in this game, i don't even need to deposit!!! but all that was begginer's luck(the true is that i was the one of the worst players online) .. at start of 3rd day my account was about 60euros.. i started playing again dirty dozens, and started losing... never in the money.. lost 5-6 in a row.. then got on tilt, started playing higher buy-ins s&gos.. then went to nl ring games.. and you guess.. my bankroll at the end of the day was about 0.56EUROS.. that was my first titan episode..

i stopped playing for a 15-20 days.. then i told myself: "i'm going to build bankroll again - from nothing" .. i went to forums, reading every post of poker strategy, asked about every situations, how is which hand played, why the button raise exists, what are the pot odds, what are the odds for winning in any hands, what are the odds for flush draw, str8 draw, etc.. i bought all CD tutorials i could find here (you can buy a CD here for 1EUR), started writing notes, i was really really serious i was really improved when i installed tutorial named : T.J CLOUTIER TOURNAMENTS STRATEGY - i changed my way of play by 1000% .. if anyone wrote me on titan in notes as "fish", he was really disapointed, when played with me again )

then i started playing every freeroll again (i remember they were on 16h and 19h, and you needed to be really fast to get in). for 2 days i won 2,5$ ..and i was back in the game.. as more experienced i started playing hup for dollar, most important i won first 3-4 games.. bankroll was raising.. started playing.. never went to higher stakes then 2$ .. was really disciplined.. as this post is going to be too long, i'll go to the point

i made my first deposit (i needed long time to open the credit card) when my bankroll there was 608 EUROS ... (yeah, 608 - that was my goal - money for holiday) .. and still now, i never play on higher stakes than 5$ (heads-up, tourneys, s&gs) - maybe sometimes i play for 10$ but really rarely... you can always win good money daily playing on lower stakes without too much risk and pressure than you can lose in one big game.. and i know that i'm not ready yet to go to the higher stakes... as i had some family problems, i'm 90% sure that i won't go to the holiday this summer.. so, money is still here, and i can win something for those 14 days, which i willn't lose if i go to holiday this summer

sorry for the long of the thread... i think my story is interesting ,and it is a true story
