I know one wants to here this but if your new to poker online, NOT new to poker, just online poker. Than play play money first, its sounds lame but it you can master play money you can master anything online. On Fulltilt if you guys are familar with it, you can turn 500k play chips into a few bucks with one of there daily freerolls. Its a great incentive to play play money.

good for you - always sensible to play where and how you feel comfortable

personally I've not played on play money any longer than to get a feel for a site - layout / buttons etc as I just find way too many 5 way all-in races with junk when its play money

so for me I felt I was picking up bad habits with it not good ones

but freerolls are definately a good way to gain experience and then move into the low stakes games

but if you've found play money a help to your game thats definately a way to build up confidence in playing online if your used to real live games - it's a bit of a culture shock

I play it alot for practicing with a lot of different opponents.
But I noticed that there's a huge difference in playing for play money or playing for real money!

I've only played with play money on full tilt and I agree about the 5-way all-in's but I've noticed that when you play higher stakes (the 2k SnG's or higher for example), people play pretty decent.

I mean playing AK or any high cards does not translate to higher chances of winning because everybody just calls with 75 k2 t3 or whatever they have which almost all the time leads to 5 way all ins as mentioned above. Sometimes I find that amusing

Play money, for me, is exciting enough. Although, I really look forward to having a real money account. I don't know which site I should play at, though.

Playmoney - not good. Better way to start poker is freerolls. In play-money tables players can do everything, it doesn't matter if you loose or win.
