I like to check my stats often (especially when I'm winning) to make sure I'm not getting into too many pots. What is a good percentage of flops to see? I think I average 25-30%. Is that too many? or not enough?. I like to keep my win/saw showdown percentage above 80%. What is normal?..What is good.?
I would say for example over a session or a tournament you may have a ave flop rate of 20-40% it just depends - but I guess if you wanted a rought figure 25-30% wouldnt be unrealistic
but some players would say 15-20% and be strict about it - they play by the book (which IMHO isnt as effective as they think online) but it really does depend
the crucial point is this is an average - and you shouldnt sit their and say to yourself I much only play 3/10 hands per orbit to get an average of 30% over the session
You should mix up your play - so maybe for a couple of rounds if you have the chips and your dominating the table you might see 80% of the flops
then change down to tight seeing only 1 or 2 hands per orbit for a bit - over even none !!
As well as changing gears you also have to consider your cards - if they're bad cards and your at a loose table where you KNOW between them someone will play the hand to the bitter end - then you just have to sit back and hop your not getting blinded away - at least at this sort of table you know you will get paid of when the 1 in 40-60 strong hands comes you will pickup enough to justify playing so tight
hope thats a help

the fewer hands you play the better you will do in the long run unless you are one of the lucky fish types LOL
If you play alot fewer hands it means you are being selective and play hands which have a good chance to make money. At the lower levels alot of people dont even watch what others are doing so you can play really tight and just play premium hands and you will still get called/maybe donked by the fish.
At the higher levels it doesnt work as the better players watch what you do and will know you have good hands the majority of the time you raise so you would have to play alot more hands in different ways
I think a lot depends on your style of play. If you are a tight player then you are obviously goin to want to see fewer flops than if you are a looser player.
I dont agree with the previous post though because if you only play few hands then it is goin to be a lot easier for the other players to put you on a range of hands and you are only going to get action from good hands or hands that have hit the flop hard.
Also I think the amount of flops you see also depends on how well you can play after the flop. When you watch some of the best players playing, and when they play so hands they only play the because they know that are more than likely going to be able to out play their opponent on the flop.

Making The Wrong Moves At The Right Times!!
I like to mix it up so the other players don't know what to expect. I will play aggressive for a little while ( only if I'm getting good cards) but then mellow out a little bit so they call thinking "If she had it she'd be betting it" I like to try to trap players but sometimes I get sucked out doing that so I like to play the tight/aggressive style.
I hate it when I fold trash and the flop turns my trash into would be treasure. But I console myself by thinking if I played every bit of trash that came along in the hopes it turns to treasure I wouldn't last long. I like tourneys so I try to think long term results not quick money.
I play only premium hands and they do well for me , of course the flop misses me entirely sometimes but at least I'm learning patience.
some great advice coming out for you from Dazzler and KatyMaty
I'd just add - never never regret folding trash
we all see things like our folded 35 off hit the flop and make a full house now and again
but you folded the hand in the first place for a reason - its highly unlikely that the hand was going to hit and if it hadnt it had little potential of being a playable hand
I play looser sometimes (with in a session) because this keep players on their toes - but that doesnt mean playing really terrible hands - it means opening up to things like K- suited in middle position or 78 or maybe chasing that flush on a marginal call on the flop
so loosening up is a bit of a relative term
look at this way -
if I'm on a draw and I call a bit more on the flop or a bet than I might not be totally comfortable with now and again
a) if I hit then I'm going to take down a big pot
b) if I dont hit and the player knows I called a pot sized bet on a draw - he is going to be far more inclined to over bet hands in order to "get me off the hand"
all this does in later hands is give me a clearer signal that he has a hand and doesnt want to let a draw play on - thus making other players plays more predictable and mine less so
And it also means I have the option of making a draw size looking bet when I have 2 pair etc - inducing a bluffing raise - which I can follow with another "bluff re-raise" etc etc
hope thats a help

Yeah, to add what those above me have said, I usaully play 25-30%. If I see that I haven't played that many hands, I might play a marginal hand. If I see that I've been playing too many hands, I'll fold that same hand.
I see less flops at the beginning of a tourney. Even though the price is cheap. I know when my winning percentage is over 10% I will go far in the tourney. On those rare occasions when I reach close to 20 final table here I come.
My thoughts
Thanks to all y'all who read and replied to my post. I think I have been seeing the right amount I just needed some comparison/feedback to reassure myself.
