I agree with the people saying FR's are a great way to build a BR. As for good practice, this only happens in the later stages of the tourneys. The first hour, depending on the number of ppl entered, is where patience and proper hand selection is the rule. You will not often see the type of play at the beginning of FR's in quality or actual buyins( one's bigger than $.10 -$1.00).
Mind you, there are FR tourneys where the 'donk' play is low to almost non existent such as in the TPFC and OFC/GGE matches.
Just my 2 cents worth. Don't let the donks scare you off. FR's can, and for many, are great fun and as I said earlier are good for practice in the late stages of the tourney's.
Good luck to all who play them and remember, patience and selective hand play are critical in the 1st hour or so.

first I must say I wish I had joined forums and played freerolls before going head on in ring games with cash. sure lost a lot of cash and learnt the hard way to learn to be better at poker i say join forums, play freerolls and perfect your style then go head on
i now play freerolls on full tilt I won a 2 $ one night went to play ring games sit and go for 1.25 and won 1st place 3 times and made a total of 11.50 from the 2$ i won in freerolls
so keep freerolling i say and master the art of poker
I think freerolls are the biggest waste of time. People play like complete donkeys and he donkeys play like uber f-ing donkeys. People go all-in chasing every draw and is impossible o get paid off. They lead to bad habits in your play as well.
the only freeroll i've won recently was a FT pl omaha and i ended up winning like 9 bux for third or something.
but it was crazy...i was catching the most insane cards, being ultra aggressive preflop and pushing hard on the flop either way....people were folding everything to me and calling when i had made hands.
i think freerolls are a waste of time unless there is no way you are going to put money into a site...but yea, they r fun if u don't plan on depositing onto a site...FTs r almost impossible to register for.
if u play for fun, freerolls r nice.
if u wanna make some money, and u have few time to spend with it, its better to spend your time in a buyin tourny.
if u win, u really win some $$$$, cause time is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!
the best freerolls are the private ones. Why?cause there are less players and sometimes more money. You just need to search a little. On big freerolls youjust cant win too often no mather how good you play. There will always be a donk rippin' your aces.
i realy like to play freerolls it is fun and if you pass the second brake you realy play some poker with some good mate
it is a good begin for the new player and a good way to practice for others
