Just a question regarding slow plays, what if someone else is betting? What I mean is you've hit a big hand (trips, flush or boat on flop). Out comes a player in front of you and he bets the pot, so player bets the pot or more. Two others call. You are pretty sure you have them all beat. Do you re-raise or just call? If you just call and the player bets again, do you re-raise at this point or keep going till the river to push him all in or to get the max chips on a limit game? Thank you NastySara
Well it depends on if you have the nuts or not. If you have the dead nuts and their are no draws that can beat you, obviously you want to call. They are drawing dead, let them. If you have a hand but their is a chance that they can out draw you, you might want to get the rest of your money in and shut out the field. It all depends on just how good your hand is and what draws are against you. I don't often recommend slow playing anything if they have good draws. Shut them out or at least try
I agree with the above post. It really depends on how strong your hand is. You can flop trips which will usually win but if you have bottom trips then you might be up against a higher set. Also, if you flop a strait but there are two suited cards on the board then you are better off taking down the pot right then and there. About the only hands you are absolute nuts to not be beat no matter what cards come next is four of a kind or a strait flush. With a hand like that, go ahead and slow play.
Be carefull slowplaying in Omaha unless you hit quads or a strait flush because you will get drawn out on so many times, even when you flop the nuts.

also depends on how big the pot is.
if they have draws a good idea would be to raise the minimum to boost the pot unless they are really aggressive and you know they will bet whatever the next cards are then slow play allthe way
if your sure you have the absolute nuts then flat calling is fine
the chances are though that you have the nuts with cards to come
ie. not the nuts (by the end)
in this situation you MUST cut out the drawing hands or at least most of them - In other words if its got to a stage where other players can justifiably go after their draws even with big bets - then you have to make a move and get them out
Too many players slow play thinking they have the nuts (maybe at the time they do) but fail to close the game down and end up losing a big big pot - instead of taking down a decent pot safely - or making sure they still take down a massive pot but only involving one other player
Even with the nuts hand - say a straight flush - If you getting played into you may be well advised to play back at them - you will get all there money instead of just some of it
You should really only slow play the nuts if the hand is in danger of running out of momentum

i have pretty much gave up slow playing unless there is absolutely no chance of a surprise. been busted too many times. watch the board for flush or straight draws. thats what will kill you. expect the unexpected. Just dont get over confident, the river gods will bust you.
