Thread: How often do you play Ax suited?

Default How often do you play Ax suited?

In limit holdem, this hand isn't playable unless you get a lot of other people in the pot and can get in cheap. In NL though, this hand has great potential to bust another player if you get a good board. I don't call big raises with this hand but I will play it from any position if I can get in cheap.

I play AxS very similiarly to the way I play a small pocker pair. I know I'm going to have to improve to win the pot, so I try to get in cheap. If I can get in cheap and see the flop, I then pretty much make it a pot odds decision on the flop and the turn. If I'm getting the right pot odds to make the calls to draw to the flush, then I make the calls.

Absolutely correct. If there is a low raise in front of me, I will see the flop with AxS and then play the pot odds.

If I'm in late position (with AxS) and there are no raises in front of me, then I may try to steal the blinds (but then I'm not really playing AxS, I'm my position.)

In an early stage of the tournement I just call if there is not a raise before. If the flop brings a draw I stay in if its cheap, two pairs I push. In a late stage of the tournement I push preflop because of the fold equity.

If I can get in cheap, I play it. Also if there's a lot of people in the pot, I might even call bets.

Any hand that needs the board to help I am going to fold against a big bet...unless in a tourney where I have the chips to spare and there are good pot odds. I love to check or just call the BB and see the flop with Axs.
