Ok, this bugged me. I'm playing last night and this guy right before me had taken a bad beat earlier and was short stacked, As I noticed(Yeah, I've done it too on a tight table), he began picking spots and kept going all-in to steal the blinds. It was mildly annoying(part of the game) and I had drawn A T clubs and felt the time was good to call his bluff, which took around 60-65% of my stack. Everyone folds, EXCEPT this one character who re-raises enough to put me all-in if I call. Well, I felt pot-commited and didn't wanna be crippled by a fold(Hey it's gambling!)so I called. As I suspected the short stack had a couple of low cards, clubs which I should have covered with my A, and "Mr. Wonderful" shows A K off-suit. Not good for me, but I ain't dead yet. Well, we get 2 clubs and a King on the flop so I need another club or I'm dead. Turn=nada and then bang a club on the river and I win. That should have been just another hand as far as I could tell, BUT........"Mr. Wonderful" starts to "chat" me up. "How can you think AT is good there?" over and again.......at least ten times. "How can you call that re-raise there" he goes on, not really angry(I don't guess) but he is persistent. Finally, after several short replies(and nothing hateful)I explain the entire hand as to a child and ask him what he thought that he might do in my seat. Oh yes, this other "clown" who takes the chair vacated by the exiting short stack joins in like he had a stake in it or something too! I was starting to get pissed, but let it slide and they both seemed to let it go, more or less. Here's the funny part, several hands later "Mr. Wonderful" goes all-in pre-flop and I had A K off-suit(sound
familiar?) and I called. He shows A 7 off. He hits a 7 on the flop and wins with that. While not a bad beat for me and I didn't really lose that much,
I HAD to say something, so..........very politely I just send a ? ......
to which he responds "bored". I replied, I was waiting for the explantion on the benefits of going all-in with A 7 off suit THERE...... My point for that whole story is this, how and when do you respond to "Poker Gods" who have read all the poker books, know every play and (this in particular) assume that having good pocket cards means the only way they can lose is by a donkey play. When should you explain your motives and/or why?
Any thoughts on this would be cool
Thanx for letting me "vent"
Later

p.s. I went on to cash!
