Default for beginners pokerstars low stakes.

$1.10 45player turbo sng

for all u guys just starting out on pokerstars, i want to tell u guys a great place to get started. now if u check my sharkscope (smjnc on pokerstars) u will see that i am in the red not black. this is because after party poker shut down to USA i started playing at pokerstars. and i played way over my bankroll. i have never deposited over 25 dollars on pokerstars. and found myself where alot of guys are, constantly losing my bankroll either on cash games or MTTs that are way out of my league/bank.
now however i wised up. someone told me once that the 45 player sngs are a way better way to raise your ROI rather than the 9player 3paid sngs. i thought to myself how the hell is that possible? its 1 out of 3 in single table and like 1 in 7 paid on the 45 mtt sng.

wel frankly that random person was right. and i wish it didnt take me 2 years to figure it out, cause the 1$ 45 player sngs are a money pit. they are a great place to jsut sit back play tight and then when antes start u start playing some push fold.

if u got the basics down and cant find a game within ur limits 1-5$ then this is the place u should be. last nite i played 2 at the same time taking 1st palce in the first one i joined, and 5th in the second one. its a nice feeling playing two final tables at the same time and taking one down feels even better.

if u are a beginner i would warn against low stake cash games. they are a joke, and its hard to get confidence when someone is calling down every hand.

some people might say that about these tournies but if u need that crucial MTT experience and have a lil exp. already its a great palce to start. if u need any tips. or questions answered id be glad to help anyone. good luck out there.

Default small field MTT's good experience and for bankroll

hi

I agree - and great to hear you experiences and thoughts

I think the small field MTT's / SnG's are a good bet, if your facing 45 players you have a good shot at making the money and its great experience for bigger MTT's as you get the discipline of making the final table from several tables and also more regular final table and heads up play too

SNG's are good for this too but alot of players will find a big change from beating the SNG's to then a big field MTT's with several hundred players and not get deep often enough to gain more experience

the 45 player games are a perfect compromise

cheers scrawnybob

I recommend the beginners to try the 6 handed Sit & Go's ( Turbo ones are better ) just play tight and you'll at least get that 2nd place, very easy to win and good to build ...

short handed games are ok. but if u get second what do u get like 50c net profit. catch the same amount of hands in a 45 player sng and make a nice lil profit for 30 mins work. but to each his own. find your grind and make good plays.

I agree. I haven't a lot of games played yet, but I'm "black" in sharkscope (user: luzipher72 in pokerstars) and thats cos I'm playing $1.10 Sit&Go.
Nice place to start to build a decent bankroll.
