I play on both full tilt and poker stars. I think they are great sites for beginners. They have plenty of freerolls. And poker stars has 1 cent 2 cent tables.
i love full tilt but alot of people love pokerstars. to me pokerstars is the worst bad beat poker site i have ever been to. but gl wherever you end up playing.
i think carbon poker is a good place to start.i start there 2 years ago with no money. i win 2 new player freerols and then i can registered for big tournamnets . At carbon y have FUNSTEP1, 2, 3 with play money,if y will win FUNSTEP3 i will have in your acount 1$ real money.good luck
Although freerolls are a cheap was to get table experience, I don't think it's generally a good place to learn. More often than not you have too many people going "All IN" from the first hand with no regard for the value of their hand. Yes you could learn some patience here, but as a beginner you often find yourself following suit (no pun intended). I think that sit and goes are far more valuable to the beginner and they can hone their skills there. And as you find yourself winning at the lower level you can advance to table play and into the higher stake games.

Being new, I'd suggest playing on sites with freerolls. While not the best way to get a feel for the play at the site - type of players, it is a nice way to see how the graphics are and how the, itIt's the program functions. Your also not risking you own money on a site you may end up not liking. Always remeber to have fun and only bet risk what you can lose..good luck!
