Default Good places to play?

Where would you consider a good site for a fairly new beginner to play?

I'm starting to realise how poorly I play and haven't grasped the subtleties of it all.

In my defence, I deposited 50 quid at PartyPoker when I started 3 weeks ago and I've now got 59.
(but most of that is bonus)

Default best place for beginners

hi snodog

welcome to the forums - you've found the best & friendliest place to ask questions and get info on all things poker - you will find players on here who really know their stuff

I think pretty much everyone starts of at PartyPoker - It's not a personal favourite of mine but it's obviously very popular with alot of people

Apart from the iffy graphics the other problem I find with party is the players either suck so much that you can't bluff or have decent agressive (but not tight as a rock) play rewarded. Also as well as alot of weak players there is a good amount of sharks also. The other thing which will really help your game is keeping notes on players you regularly see in you preferred stakes - on Party this really isnt so easy as it's so big.

The sites I would recommend (please sign-up & deposit through our banners) are -

Titan Poker - I'd recommend them because we do alot of good low stakes tournies with them, we have a good 100% 1st deposit bonus which includes FREE Gamecalc poker odds calculator software (worth $149) + entry to all our SUNDAY $250 Titan FR Freerolls ... USE BONUS CODE: 4kingpoker

On a general level - Titan has very weak games (like Party) but has lower player volume so you can track players and watch out for the sharks. The software is easy on the eye and very logical and has useful stats feature to see how you played hands.

Poker.com - We have a 100% bonus with them - USE BONUS CODE: 4KP100 . The site is easy to use, has great features and straight foward graphics. Poker.com has alot of FREEROLL's to learn the ropes on and the games are loose & weak without being too crazy. We also run regular tournies with them.

Bodog Poker - Has by far the loosest easiest to win games online and a straight forward INSTANT 10% any deposit bonus - lots of beginners

PokerRoom.com- The pokerroom network sites are still my personal favourite - the software and features are easy and quick and the player volume is big - top 4 network without having the overload of Party - games are loose without being rediculous and so a good place to really learn solid poker and they have an excellent range of tournaments.

PokerHeaven - Is another favourite of mine as the games are loose but seem to be more passive than aggressive - ie. they're weak players but not total maniacs. The bonus is now improved to $100 up to $200 and is release on a good rate - $10 bonus per $30 rake generated. The software I think is easy to work with and the game volumes are not massive but sufficent.

I could recommend more sites for different reasons but these are the sites I would suggest are a good starting point - sites like party poker / pacific poker & bodog are some of the loosest places to play online but the danger playing at sites that are so loose is that you will start to play as badly as them or get frustrated when players make crazy plays and win. Similarly I wouldn't recommend sites like PokerStars or Paradise to a beginnner - they offer excellent tournaments but the players are tougher - and you need to be prepared if you want to win.

If your a beginner, you should probably start in freerolls and get use to the format. Try POKERCHAMPS they have freerolls every hour,
