Default Just Fold

Don't be afraid to fold. If you think you don't have the best hand...FOLD. Cut your losses. Don't let pride, arrogance or emotion get in the way of a logical play. I know it can be hard to get away from a pot sometimes, but t can mean the difference between surviving or busting out of a tourney.

Just a side note: DON'T PLAY WITH COLLEGE PROFESSORS After a few beers, it's like playing with a bunch of little girls.

Angry Reading Players

I find that one the biggest differences between real world and internet poker is reading players. This is probably my strongest point in poker and it seems useless on the internet. I watch players playing loose and repeatedly calling with crap, then when I get a good hand and challenge them, they have me beat from go. I just busted out of a tourney from this. Guy was calling with 4-8 off suit and junk like that, but was getting lucky and had a bg stack. I get dealt pocket Q's and a Q comes on the flop. I call this jokers raise and he has pocket K's and of course a K hits on the river. {I know beats are a part of the game, but I just needed to vent } If anyone has any advice or thoughts on reading players in an internet game, pleaselet me know. Thanks

Question Pokerbility???

Has anyone used Pokerbility or any of the other instat odds calculators? I'd be interested in any feedback before I download something worthless.

Nice way of thinking at the table. Try using these bylaws to your advantage at the table as if you are the one holding such hands and draws.

Don't waste your money. You already know how to play. You know the probability of your starting hands, which is really what this software is about.

As far as tells online. Just watch the way people play. Do they go in every hand? Do they ususally win the pot? Do they show their cards? How long do they take to make a descion? How much do they bet? Do they check and raise? Do they check and call?

These are about the only things you have to go on. If someone is going in with junk and winning the pot I am very reluctant to go against them. To me it means the luck is with them at that time. Wait a little while and it will change-then look out!

The only other thing I can think of is look for people bluffing. If they do it enough, you figure out who they are.

I enjoy your posts. Keep up the good work!

Default Thanx for the feedback

I was already dubious of the odds calculators. Besides, if you rely Solely on your cards and the odds you are too predictable.

Talking Rock like???

Unfortunately, I find myself too often not following my own advice. It seems to be the patience I have the most problem with. Of course I also make the random bonehead play for no reason, but I've always done that...

Talking A Pretty Good Day

Well I feel pretty good about myself today. I played in 2 freerolls and cashed in both. I cashed at Pokerstars in a freeroll for Cardschat forum, and in an open freeroll at Bodog. Both only had around 750 players, and I finished about 35th in both. The Pokerstars one was good because it had mostly solid players. I felt I played pretty well and when I did go out, it wasn't a bad play, I just got beat out on the river. This was my first freeroll at Bodog and what I've read is true. Lots of loose and bad players. I had a few bad beats and a long run of no cards toward the end when the blinds and antes were high, or I would have done better there.

May your straights never get flushed
