If you have a good hand like AJ but in early positin and the guy has like a half of your stack its better to fold but in late position you have to know what cards hes playin aggressively and what what type of player he is.The hand you were mentioning was probably in a freeroll or low buy in tournament in which all what I've said before does not apply here cause freerolls are like roullette
if someone is pushing like that AJ is a snap call....you got what you wanted.....AJ vs. 58....you lost but that is part of it correct play bad outcome it happens....I snap call in that situation at all times.....If I am early position I would even make a weak raise to induce the all in from the maniac....well played...varience sucks

Raising or limping trying to induce the allin could be a bomb that explode in your hand if anybody else call with a better hand than yours.
In fact isn't a problem about early or late position, is a problem about your position regarding the maniac's position.
In my opinion the best place to be against a maniac is on your right.
if it was only the 2 of us in the hand i probably would have called him too....considering how he had been playin....if it was early in the tourny because i would rather go out early than play for lets sat a couple hours and bubble....the later in the tourny the less likely i would be to call him with AJ unless they were suieted... i would call for sure.....but the later in the tourny the less likely people are to make plays like he did![]()
I have no tactic for those kind of players. I just want to add that i prefer to give him a bad beat.![]()
That's why i may choose a 64 suited to call his all-in and not wait for a strong hand. It's so good to beat a loose aggressive player with some under hand.![]()

Go with your instincts. Look at it this way, an average hand is Q7. AJ is about a 60/40 favorite here so calling is a no brainer. 58 suited outdrew you, but that happens occasionally. When calling an all-in, look at the tendencies of the pusher. If they are that loose, any ace, king or queen is probably good in that spot. However, keep in mind that at some point, they'll have a real hand so don't be too anxious to call them down with marginal holdings. Be aware that another player may have a big hand as well.
