Default Made my first money win as a new player..and the weakness of AK

I just started playing freerolls a few days ago after playing hold'em for play chips for quite a long time now.

I've probably played close to 20 freeroll tournies in the past few days. In many of them, I got killed in the first hour because I played too loose.

Three days ago, I placed 50th of 12,000 on the PokerStars weekly tourny, so I got invited to play the Weekly Round 2 for a prize pool of $2000.00

Last night, I played a free-roll thru Rounders Radio. I was in the final 25 so I was in the money. Now we're not talking alot of money, but out of a field of 500 or so, I was happy just to make the money table.

I was around 12th place, and got dealt A/K offsuit..with less then 25 people left, i'm thinking "sweet".

The blinds were large already, so I put in a hefty bet. Only one taker which was fine by me.

The flop is 7/7/3...ok not great, but not the end of the world either. I go all in. He follows...what does he have?

He's got pocket two's. Ugh, ok i'm a little behind but its a coin flip almost.

    The turn comes...its a King...yay for me

The river comes...its a two, to make a full house for him and busts me out.

    Still made 25 cents,lol

Just goes to show that as mighty as AK is...its not invincible.

It's the best drawing hand of them all, but that's it. Still, good job on cashing in the rr freeroll. I play in it frequently, and have only cashed once or twice. Will probably play in both tournies they have tonight. Hope to see you then.
When at the tables, play for the love of the game and show respect for your opponents.

Welcome to all beginners. Remember Poker is just
a game, enjoy it. There are alot of wanna bee's
out here. Some people take losing and winning
serious, too serious! Don't let poor sportsmanship
    get the best of you.

Congrats on cashing in the tourney, I went out at 23 so I made a whole 13 cents I think. I like the RR freeroll.

    Congrats..

If you want to get more experience play on bodog and pokerstars. If you can last from 5000 up 12000 and make it to the top 100 you got it down...

closest I ever was on bodog was 15th place. You don't make much lol!
