    Default The Morals of Bodog

Bodog has offered Tiger Woods $100 Million for a five-year endorsement deal. Details are here:
    http://www.dailymail...tml#ixzz0oBXFHq5n

The $100 million deal has a 'no moral conditions' offer, whereby the $100m five-year deal will be honoured without condition on the player's moral conduct"

"To be clear, Bodog Brand is not telling Tiger "all is forgiven". In Bodog Brand's eyes, there is nothing to forgive," said Calvin Ayre, BodogBrand's founder and owner.

But Ayre isn't bothered. He added: 'On the road to recovery people take all sorts of different pain killers, therapy, drugs - who is to say which are legal and which are not.
Surely, all medicine is "performance enhancing"- that's what medicine is for!

'Every single drug, be it for a headache, sexual performance, legal "hyperbaric chambers" regularly used by athletes, or indeed laser eye surgery.

'Woods has had corrective surgery to improve his vision which he freely admits helps his game, similarly Mark McGwire uses contact lenses and there can be no doubt that vision is all important in baseball and, therefore, should it not be illegal?

'BodogBrand believes you should do whatever it takes to be world No 1 and will back Tiger Woods to the tune of $100,000,000 to do just that no matter what allegations - substantiated or otherwise - appear during the five-year deal.'

    --------------------------------------------------

Well folks, I for one am shaking my head at bodog's logic in this move. Follow their logic....having 18 mistresses, no prob, ....whos to say which drugs are legal, no prob.....no morals clause cause we dont care what you do for the next 5 years, we're still gonna pay ya $100 million, no prob.....bodog believes you should do whatever it takes to be world #1, no prob. ROFLMAO, so obviously cheating must be ok also at bodog.

    Default just marketing genius IMHO

    hi

IMHO this is just the classic marketing genius that bodog is know for ...

I dont think they're saying players should cheat their way to the top etc - but already it's getting lots of links & viral about their offer

basically this is kind of old news that the mail has picked up on - it was in the trade news probably a month or more ago I think

all it amounts to is where other brands like nike have stopped sponsoring Tiger - bodog is saying look we would sponsor you and we wouldnt have morally judged you and pull your sponsorship for what you did

lets be honest there are still alot of people that think gambling & poker is tantermount to dancing with the devil ... so I think if poker site pulled advertsing the moral right would already be moaning about the sponsorship in the first place

and also I really dont think I or anyone else for that matter is going to have their moral compass swayed by whether Nike sponsor his bag before or after he might have had an affair ...

also as a result of Tiger getting caught out I very much doubt that anymore amateur golfers are having a bit on the side than probably were doing already

this is just a great chance for Bodog to get some really great value for money brand exposure - they know that Tiger is not going to take a deal with a poker site

its like 4kingpoker saying we're offering up to sponsor the underwater basket weaving champion as long as they promise never to get a hobby with any point to it ... its just a chance for publicity

    cheers SB

If Tiger said yes Calvin would probably shit twinkies, lol. It wasn't long ago that the Bodog brand was sinking faster then the titanic so if he had to pay Tiger no one would ever be allowed to do a cash out from any of their sites
