Has anyone played on the new Bodog site. They just updated their software and lemme' tell you I am impressed with it. If you play multiple games you should check it out. You can view all your games in a single window, pretty cool.

Just got the updated version. Sure looks a lot different than it used to. I'll have to play for a little while to see how the new improvements feel.

The only thing I dont like about the new format is that you have to be set up with certain windows formats. Like you can't have ME, I think its only on XP.

does anyone know why canadians are not aloud to sign up for a bodog account?

there's a great opening for a joke there styler, but i don't have the heart to use it !

beyond that, it seems like certain counrty or region based sites have restrictions as to who can play them. for example, there are many european site that don't allow citizens of the u.s.a. to play them. i expect mr. scrawny will know more about this than me !

its a bit of a crazy setup all round really - combination of

a) sites wanting to buy into networks but restrict areas of operation of the other network users sites

b) sites being more or less worried about the legality of operating / marketing to certain countries players - ie. US or their own country of origin.

so you end up with for example -

WPTonline (the biggest US poker brand) not allowing US players (the US legal issue)

Betfair - no US players (same network as interpoker)

VCpoker - no US players (same network as doylesroom)

Poker.com - no Austrailian

The Bodog issue of not allowing Candian Players is a new one on me - I'll check it out a bit more - it might be that they have separated marketing or a networked deal to use the software but not the brand in Canda - I will find out for you.

but very interesting stuff harry and scrawny, thanks for the reply. the explanation you gave me scrawny was good enough, you don't really have to look into that any further... it's probably just a bunch of uninteresting legal mumbo jumbo.
i was just curious after i downloaded it why i wasn't able to sign up for an account.
