Equalizer
Now this is something i was thinking about , yesterday while playing on bodog poker, since i have the id that the very big stack isnt going to win another big pot fast i try to steal some chips from him , this works 90 % of the time on full tilt , and other poker software,

so i thought ill give it a try in bodog, clearly i was super wrong , he was busting all the stacks from 2000 to 4000 and his stack was above 20,000 in a tournament at bodog, then i tried it
, i had mid pair , and a flush draw , so i thought i got him,
but nope , he had top pair ace kicker, and the equalizer didnt came,
so my thoughts then was , ohhh so if there is no equalizer on bodog i would find that one of the best softwares then
, since in real life there is no such thing as a equalizer
, its like seeing someone with a very huge chip stack going in with the best hand , but end up losing it at the turn or river, giving a other a better chip stack
, so whats your opinion about a equalizer, it sounds like a bit direction of rigged, but really i do see this allot, people with the best hand big stack losing the hand
, but at bodog i havent seen this so much , its like it doesnt exist there. hope it stays like that
.

equalizer / bias against big stack ?
hi
I'm not sure I've read your post right but I think what your suggesting is that when a big stack goes in with a better hand the short stack with a worse hand the short stack seems to win more ?
interesting as alot of other players (with the short stack) have suggested the opposite
ie. the site wants to get the tournament over already and gives the big stake an advantage even if they go in behind
so I'm not sure - personally I think alot of the "rigged" posts and experienced can be dispelled looking at the hands from the perspective of why both players played the hands eg. for a big stack calling an all-in by a short stack with a bad hand makes more sense as they are a big stack etc
but I guess alot of the time it comes down to having enough data to make any conclusions - as I've said before there are geeks who analyse massive amounts of hand data to see if sites are running true over a long period -
they DO spot odd winning streaks and untypical play - but not often ...
The 2 occasions when they have - recently at Absolute Poker (with the potripper affair) and more recently at their sister site UltimateBet (with the NioNio player) it has turned out to be staff or a player with access that they shouldnt have / or abused NOT RIGGED RNG's
It's worth noting that from what we know on both occasions it has involved playing while being able to see hole cards - NOT knowing some secret formula for a bias in the RNG
so the only conclusion I can draw from this is that given that these two characters have knowledge of the system and wanted and were able to cheat - they didnt do it via some secret doomswitch or RNG bias but through having to play whilst seeing the hole cards etc
which suggested that there isnt a hole in the RNG's at sites - but with Absolute & UB an issue with staff security and how much they monitor access by some high up members of staff.
Most poker rooms display different characteristics purely down to the types of players they attract which means adapting your play and being aware of what they're typical player is
eg. sites maybe good for fish - but fish come in two distinct varieties - loose maniacs and passive calling stations
bodog & pacific poker etc have alot of loose maniac gamblers who are not bluffable and will call and bet big, bluff and gamble on long shot hands - this is great for solid players who can get action from weak hands when they have strong ones - but this wont be 100% successful, they will get lucky sometimes - the upside is that they will generally pay you off for your big hands
pokerheaven & virgin poker (IPN Boss network) seem to have more passive, loose calling station players - they will fold to a big bet, can be bluffed if done correctly but will tend to call most small / moderate continuation bets etc - so you need to know which hands you want to build a pot with (drawing hands etc) and which ones not to AA etc
hope thats a help

As I have stated numerous times before BD is a great site for cleaning up the house. Most of the players seem to come from the sports book side of bodog (imho sports betting is 90% or more luck) so they take the long shots and yes sometimes catch them. However if you are a consistantly even average player you will make decent money on bodog.
