I have a American Bank account and I live in Mexico. Bodog accused me of some sort of scandal and banned me from their site. They said my IP is in Mexico but my home address is in the US, which it is because you have to have the address match your bank info. Anyways I pleaded with them and I finally got mad and cussed them out in a email and they banned me. WTF

hmm i dont have the answers to your question.I am sorry that happened to you.But at the same time it is a little fishy?Hope things work out better for you.
They're just protecting themselves, and if you send abusive emails you don't exactly help your case.

Why not ask them if they would consider, or already have, creating accounts specifically for use with poker sites. What with the massive increase in popularity of poker, it would seem like good marketing by banks etc to offer these accounts which would also be beneficial to the banks as a source of, not dormant but not overdrawn, money in these credit-crunch times.
i agree with keeping the abuse to a minimum. It won't help your cause and may harm your credit rating if you have to open new accounts for normal banking.
hmm - well I can understand your problem with having account and IP conflict ... but to be honest that is going to get flagged up by any poker room ... they have to protect themselves for fraud accounts and fraud traffic
I remember being a victim (together with the poker room) of a conserted fraud attempt by an organised group - who ended up costing the poker room (and temporarily me and other affiliates) alot of money ... they quite rightly want to protect themselves
some of the CC rules protect the customer ... rightly to a point but this has been abused and been a big issue for the poker rooms ... and why should they loose out or get de-frauded ? so they will be careful and safe rather than sorry on borderline situations
Getting the customer Service you deserve
at the end of the day ... and I'm not having a go at anyone or ignoring the fact that some sites customer service can be patchy or not up to scratch
but customers will generally get the customer service they deserve
it's absolutely no good getting shi**y with them - if there is an issue then they will generally bend over backwards to help customers who are consistently polite and appreciate that a problem cannot be just solved if it is far more complicated
in the example above it should be self evident that having an IP in one place and account in another or banking in one place and residence in another - they will have explain this and then it down to trying to see what could be resolved with the customer making the effort to
help them help you
even if it doesnt get resolved - what is the point in getting arsy with them ?
cheers scrawnybob
