US Feds Hound Bodog
In a previous thread (Bodog is truly a joke) I mentioned the article in Forbes magazine about the US seizures of some of Bodogs owners assests. The following link will take you to the article Informer - Forbes.com.
I don't know what impact this will have on Bodog and US players but it might shed some light on the difficulties some are having in getting payouts.
My advice for US players is to be patient stay informed and by all means join and particpate in the PPA ( Poker Players Allliance) Poker Players Alliance Home to help in making online poker legal in the US. By participating I mean actually using their site or any other means to send letters to your congressmen and other representatives to let them know your views. There is power in numbers and if we stick together we can make a change. It is always election time for politicians and they do listen if enough people make their voice heard.
As always Good Luck and hope to see ya at the tables.

It's been covered before and I'm pretty sure I responded but here goes again. Not a single player lost any funds and neither did Bodog, spurious information put out by the publishing crowd to sell print. The only thing you can believe 100% regarding newsprint of any kind, is the date at the top of the page. It takes a while for Bodog to pay out because they want to be certain the withdrawing player gets their money.

non industry media never seem to get anything right
hi
I have to agree with pothole on this
the mainstream media at best get half a story right - and therefore at least half wrong when it comes to online poker
most of the time they get it nearly totally wrong - sensationalising or misunderstanding and talking as if they are an authority and know what they are talking about - when they clearly do not
online poker is NOT illegal in the US - I wish the damn media would actually read the bills and the UIGEA and stop saying online poker is illegal - it is NOT
Obviously it would be better if the govt would get involved in regulating it etc but the media actually should start reporting facts rather than half truths or how they would like things to be
the Bodog thing is really old news - again inaccurately and sensationally reported - its more to do with the domain issue than with any kind of cash flow issues - again the realities arent half so exciting -
and the media just loves to simplify things to the point that what they leave to say of write just become inaccurate and misleading

i have never had a problem getting a payout from bodog, even as of late. although my checks are coming from canada now, it has yet to be a problem. the fastest i have ever been paid from bodog is 24 hours. the longest has been about one calendar month. i have received about 20 payouts since playing there. despite the recent moves by the feds...i still get the checks. they used to come from nevada and florida...now they come from canada. god save the queen!

I hear they got quicker
hi
I heard that alot of players have been getting them quicker than that for a while
now 2 weeks ish NOT 4 weeks
AFAIKS "bad" news / rumours are quick to get round the internet and slow to get ignored when no longer current
and "good" news is slow to get round and quickly forgotten

I got over a $200 payout for Bodog. It came in a resaonable amount of time, 3 weeks. I feel my remaining cash is safe at Bodog, too. Had no problems depositing a Canadian check into my checking account.
