RedStar Freerolls
Ahhh, RedStar poker on the Cake network. The regular games and cash tables are the same as Cake. (tho there are some russian only cash tables)
But what I would like to talk about is the RedStar only freerolls. A couple of $25 and a $50 daily. These freerolls are almost pure Russian players. Just months ago they would attract 500-800 players duking it out for $25. lol. I have played a ton of these, and now know the true meaning of "donkey".
Heck, I've even come in first on one of these and won $4.20. But these days, poker is exploding across russia and these games are like a FullTilt freeroll and now fill up to the max 1,500 entrants within minutes. 98% russian donkeys.
Now my point about why you should play these games is threefold:
1) Everyone complains about donkeys. Jeez, read the other posts, it's a bunch of donkey this and donkey that and ban the donkey, kill the donkey and my favorite, why is a donkey a donkey?
Well, just play a few of these Redstar freerolls. I call it donkey immersion shock therapy. It's you against 1499 donkeys, table after table after table. Soon you will feel numb. Be sure to be on guard, and not let your own inner donkey out. But in time, you can feel the donkey force and learn how to ride the donkey train. Keep at it, no matter what. The end result....when you go back to a "normal" freeroll...having a donkey or 2 at the table will be such a relief, that you will actually look forward to playing a "normal" freeroll.
2) Plan for the future. I have high hopes the Obama Administration will one day open up the USA to online poker. When that happens, are you ready for every freeroll to become just like a RedStar freeroll.
3) They chat in Russian on the RedStar freeroll. It's in the Cryllic Alphabet. You will have not the slightest clue what is being said. For those folks that have "chat" anxiety this is a good way to learn how to ignore those pesky chat comments.
