Finally I won the first prize in Doyles private room. although the payout was 15$ for the 1st place it was good experience as I was down to the final card twice. On both occasions I was dominated with weaker ace. but with the table being short handed I had to make the call after an A came on the flop.but luckily i caught my weaker pair on the river. I guess we need to get lucky once to win any tournament. please tell me your thoughts on my questionable call.

Congrats on winning. They are tough tourneys to win, hence the name "Donkhard". LOL. I play their tourneys on FT. X

I think if you hit your ace on the flop by that stage of the game you have to go with it. If your opponent has a higher kicker then that's just something you have to live with - and every now and again you will get lucky and catch your pair on the turn or river.

This situation bit me a couple of times last night. On one occasion I had AQ, my opponent had A7. We both went all-in and he hit the 7 on the river. In another game I had AQs, my opponent had A4. It was all-in time again and he got lucky by making a straight on the river.

It hurt, but it's part of the game
