Anyone see the preview of the new Cake 2.0 software on the site?Seems they cleaned up the graphics.

yeah, I saw the preview. some changes. They do not mention 3 of the biggest problems at cake, 1) while you are in a game the lobby lags, and most times you have no idea what the payouts are, info is not there, or wrong. I was in a 1K gtd last night. lobby said 40 places paid, go to details and it says 10 pay and shows only percentages of the 10 payouts. Been that way for years, and it sucks. I finished 10th and had to wait for the email on what the hell I had won, lol, $14.70.

2) your folded cards. Yeah they show if u move ur cursor a lot over your name at the table there, and then just for a few seconds. frustrating!

3) table layout. it sucks and is old. the same freaking, boring avatars

They did mention that the chat window will be detachable now. but attaches to the game window, I guess like FT does. well better than what they had, but the Merge way is better by far.

And how bout their games. buyins to high IMHO, only a few $2 and 3$ buyins, then a few $6 buyins, then the big majority is High dollar buyins. and most all are late registration

Then they are running a really stupid promo right now called Door Crashers, For 2 hrs at noon and night, they run a couple of games with $100 to $300 added, max 10 players. They fill in less than 30 seconds. But I aint gonna be sitting at their lobby for those 2 hours, refreshing every 30 seconds just to get into a $1o buyin with $100 added, 10 max players. stupid promo.

any improvement at cake will be welcome, but jeeez, cake has sat on their ass for years with the same old software.

I agree with all those points and will be big time glad when they do finally upgrade, but i will still like Merge software better probably.How come at Cake rooms if you don't choose an avatar then you aotumaticaly get the emo chick,wtf!!!!

I like their promo, but I think it's kinda stupid to restrict the games to 20 - 30 players.
I opened the lobby at 8pm yesterday and waited for the game to pup up. It did, as announced at first. When the Register button appeared I immediately clicked on it and then "ok". But what do you know lol. Game already full. Whole thing didn't last more than 2 seconds. I'm pretty sure I can get in next time but with only 4 games / day.. not worth the effort. GG cake.
And yea, their software is beyond bad. It's hard to be competitive with Stars and tilt out there but damn, get your chit fixed. Oh well, I guess the bad players and the fact that they've been very good to me compensate for that

The lobby looks like it will be a lot better. And you can dump those old avatars with diff views. Nice. Now I don't have to look at all the male cross-dressers that pick the hooker avatar.

Yo don´t need to look them now either, you have the option of use the avatar free table.



I always use it this way (Avatar free), and just later some one mention me why use a girl avatar, so have to change the avatar even if not use a avatar table (did i mention cake sooftware sucks? LOL)

About the improvements, for what i read improves to cake will be only in the looks, filters, etc. Don´t remember read any where that will improve tourney lobby, prizes pay or something that really matter, in fact i think they are lowering the guaranteed pays.

Hope i am wrong and they do the fix.

I see today that Cake open some new Multitable Sit&go´s

Only remember the $1/30players and the $6/30players bounty before, but not much multitable in the $4 or $5

New $4.40/30 players (pay top5)

Also new $5.50/20 players (pay top5), don´t remember any site who pay5 from only 20 players, this looks very nice. (10min blinds)

New $6/24 players (aside of the $6/30 players bounty)

$10/20 players and so on.

Is really hard to find poker rooms aside of fulltilt and Stars with Multitable S&G, so great news for me.

I'm slightly nervous of the new look cake launch after beta testing it for them

Every time I was in a game I had problems with the software.

It either froze on me.. or it opened up a 2nd table of the same game and wouldn't let me close one without it closing both or it just totally crashed.

While beta testing the new look site I sent in multiple reports and screenshots even though I was informed the glitches had been resolved I was still having problems.

It was such a pain in the rear that I gave up in the end and used the 'old/normal' software. I got fed up of paying my money to play in games and having nothing but hassles.

I hope that they resolve all the problems before they fully launch the site.

I've played at cake quite a bit and didn't really notice any updates. It still looks crappy and I agree about the folded cards buisness where you have to constantly move your cursor to see what you had! What also frustrates me at cake is when you go out and are saying gg gl etc it closes the blimming game on you and you have to re-open the lobby and then hit observe. I do like the setup at 32red though where you can see your best hand even when you have folded.

im looking forward to this upgrade, anything is better than what they have now. What are your guys favorite Cake run sites, Doyles? Lock?
