Default Cake - Let us change your nickname

Anyone else get this from Cake? I really hate that you can change your nick there. My guess is that there will be a requirement to earn so many pts to get anything.

Did you know that you can change your poker nickname once every 7 days? Since not many players know about this option and how it protects them at the tables, we thought we would go ahead and change your nickname for you – with your permission of course!

What’s in it for you? For starters, by registering for this promotion we will credit your account with 100 Gold Chips. Over the course of the next 30 days we will change your nickname for you at random intervals and credit your account with $5 for each change. Simply continue to play at the tables as usual during this time.

WOW?!?!?! I've never heard of any pokersite that allows players to change their names period (nevermind often). In my opinion this sounds TERRIBLE! You get reads on players (esp. the regulars) and then you don't even know who is on your table (maybe in the very next game?). I would think this would also be a field day for multi-accounters.

Seems ludicrous & can't imagine why Cake would figure this to be a good thing for any reason??? Can someone make some sense of it to me?

I don´t get the email also, but kind of surprise some people don´t know about the change of nicks there, change of nick is alloud since pretty much when cake network start.

About been good or bad, or spot a player only in the next game, or multiaccounting.

For regulars is kind of bad in the way that notes on players only work for 1 week (unless player don´t change his nick), but in the other side if you are good and don´t want people avoid enter with you then a change of nick helps.

If you are a bad player and don´t want to people pick on you when are playing then the change of nick helps too.

If you don´t want to people spot you on results trackers (sharscope, Proshark, etc) this helps a lot.

About multiaccounting, no idea what you mean with that, you only can change the nick that appear in the table (screen name) not your personal data to can open a account.

I have some time not play there, but if was a regular there surely will like to use the change of nick every week, i do changed some times when played there S&G´s.

    edit..
Oh and this is not only in cake skin this is in all cake network, meaning can change your nick on doyles too or any cake skin 1 time every week.

In a way i will like to see this also in Fulltilt.

As long as its only the table name and not the log-in name i could see its good and bad sides but if it changes all then it would be all bad

I love Cake Poker for the reason I can change my name, if people need stat tracking programs that is their own fault. The name changing on Cake Network is not a new thing.

(in game notes stay attached to the player even if they change name)

I noticed this recently on Itops (cake network) and it allowed me to correct my nick to something closer to the one I use on most sites. I liked it. Every 7 days is a lot but...

Who said anything about stat tracking programs? How is that relevant to the posts above?
Pretty sure there aren't any HUDs that run on Cake anyways.

If it keeps 'player notes' still on player than I don't see it bein' terrible... but still not good imo. Might as well play RUSH poker then imo.. for some more readless play.

    Really? you would? Why?
I can't see that happening anytime soon. Pretty sure the 1,000's of tourney regs. & cash game players (the ones playing at or above 200nl) wouldn't be into seeing screenames changing. I think it's the worst idea ever. (ie. for SNG & MTT play..esp SNG.. why even bother with any notes/reads then.. I mean if you're never seeing them again then who cares? I think this would just take a TON away from the 'game'. It'd be like everyone at local casinos wearing costumes with masks on & not talking. I think it's a joke.

Everything, that is why they have the name change option on the network
