Ice Box was sooo close. Just needed a little more track and he would of caught the winner. Oh well, almost, what a sloppy mess though.

It is so very hard for a closer to get there when running in the slop like that, its much better to go wire to wire.Anyways i had a Ice Box and Jacksons Bend exzacta that would have paid very nice had it hit, boo hoo

Actually slop isn't that bad for a closer. It's muddy conditions that are the worst. Slop is so loose it doesn't slow em down as much. Only problem is mud being slung in their face. Any way, the winner didn't go wire to wire either, had to close too, Ice Box was just a little late.

I didn't watch it but thats what i meant about it being rough on closers in the mud or slop really,horses and jocks especially don't like mud and slop kicked into their faces so thats what i was saying, of course closers can win in all sorts of conditions and i never meant that you had to wire them to win, but to give yourself the best chance and if the horse is a natural speed horse, cheap or not, you can't really go wrong to send em in those off track conditions,imho

cool dealio, no matter how much you won it was better then what i won at the Derby, as a matter of fact i had a rough saturday all the way around because after the race i then bet that Sugar would beat Money by either tko or ko, uumm wrong again!
