its not illegal in the US you just have to put money on with your credit card. If you put money on a site then you can bet right away. The betting is fun online especially the live betting. it is great when you watch the game and can bet on the action right away.

the UIGEA applies to banks

and specifically NOT players - they cannot legally be responsible etc

the bill specifically makes sure that players are not held as guilty parties in it - the UIGEA is specifically aimed at the banking organisations complying with the legislation

this is obviously not a definative legal statement - but it's what the act says and how other legal people have interpreted it

i believe it is all illegal after Bush passed that law. They can techincally go into your account and shut it down but it never happens because the sites are operated on offshore accounts. If you don't want to play because you are worried it is illegal, you have no worries.
