What links ARE allowed in 4kingpoker forum

This is a quick guide to the links that ARE allowed in the 4kingpoker forums - it is intended as a guide to new and existing members who have genuine intentions for wanting to post useful links to other sites resources.

We have put this thread up because alot of links are posted purely to advertise / promote another site or offers etc

Unfortunately spamming of forums or trying to gain free advertising and links to sites spoils it for the rest of the members who may feel unsure if they can post a link to somewhere - hopefully this will be a help to our genuine members

Please bear in mind your existing reputation within the community will have a big bearing on whether something is deemed spam

Links in posts

1) You CAN post links to other sites so long as you DONT own, affiliate for or have some sort of vested interest in the site or page you are linking to.

NB. If you own a site / joined wanting to promote your site - DONT just do it and then get banned - contact me and we can discuss possible ways for promoting your site which work for both of us ;-)

2) Any links posted must be relevant to poker or of real interest to our community

3) You CAN post links to articles, blogs posts etc but please DO NOT post links to bonus offers at other sites or just the homepage.

4) You CAN post information on tournaments happening scheduled at sites etc even ones that we dont affiliate for - we will try to post reply with a link to our review of the relevant site for members to read and ideally signup through

NB. Please do NOT post a link directly to the poker site or try to help me out by putting a link to our review in your post
although we really appreciate the thought ;-) - as spammers use this technique to try and steal signups

5) The credibility of 4kingpoker is measured partly by where we link to - we are a highly regarded site and only want to be associated with other quality sites - links to poorly written articles or sites of little or no benefit to the reader will be deleted.

6) We are happy for members to link to quality authority poker sites but links must be to internal, specific and relevant pages

6) If you are a newer member or not made many posts please DO NOT use keyworded links - Just post the straight url eg. http://www.4kingpoker.com rather than Poker Forum

Signatures

We DONT allow links / advertising of own sites etc in signatures

If you see links in signatures then these members have agreed these in advance with 4kingpoker, possibly in exchange for allowing us to post on their forum etc or some other arrangement

We no longer accept any links in signatures from new members - but we are happy for you to put a link in your profile to your site (so long as its not spammy) under the homepage link

Please note 4kingpoker DOES NOT spam other poker forums - We expect the same respect in return.
